Has Ankara Started To Execute Threats? Armenian Citizens Being Arrested In Turkey ?

http://armenians-1915.blogspot.com/2007/10/2064-media-scanner-15-oct-2007.html

15.10.2007 PanARMENIAN.Net/ Armenia’s representative in the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation, Karen Mirzoyan (residence in Istanbul), confirmed that Armenian citizens are being arrested in Turkey. “I have got information proving this fact. However, I am not competent for such kind of issues and cannot furnish a more precise information,” Karen Mirzoyan said, RFE/RL reports.

Irish Times newspaper reported that some 100 Armenians - illegal migrants - were detained in Turkey for further deportation to the homeland. “Their deportation is viewed as revenge to adoption of the Armenian Genocide resolution by the U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee,” the newspaper said.

Meanwhile, Karen Mirzoyan said that Armenians who illegally resided in Turkey were detained “with a purpose of deportation over violation of visa regime.”
Additional Details
Will Turkey arrest and deport some 70 to 80 Thousand illegal Armenian immigrant workers now ? It appears that it has already started.

I agree with Mr.Fred Hiatt!
Armenians Who Need Help Today

By Fred Hiatt
Monday, October 15, 2007;

"Imagine what the Armenian diaspora might have accomplished had it worked as hard for democracy in Armenia as it did for congressional recognition of the genocide Armenians suffered nearly a century ago. It's even possible that modern Armenia would be as democratic as modern Turkey. "

Very good question, thank you for it...

**********************************

First of all, its Turkey legal wright. Nobody can her blame for deportation armenian citizens working in Turkey without visa.

It is already discussed in YA as a short-term measures # 4 in below link...

Lady GOP: All efforts of Armenian Diaspora can't force Turks to accept genocide, but create tension..

Deportation makes not only Armenia and diaspora busy but also creates pressure on both. I believe that, every week thousands of Armenian will be deported... It seems to complete deportations of all armenians working in Turkey without visa will take nearly two year...

Every measure will be benefit of Turkey, now you should start thinking...

**************************************...

Artistic Hand : Being in a country in a illegal way such as without visa is ILLEGAL... And for deportation, first you should arrest them...

Totally Blunt
Turkey never threatened Armenians. Therefore it is impossible for Turkey to execute a nonexistant threat.

On the other hand, Turkey has every right to find and deport illegal workers. If there is anybody who has grievances about this issue, they should look at the French example and then talk.

I haven't heard of any such report, and I am watching the press keenly. General public opinion is that these illegal workers are poor people trying to earn a living and I don't think anybody would harass them for the doings of the "rich people living off their dad's money" (troll's words, not mine) in USA.

Edit: The question is, if Armenians in USA are so rich, can spend so much money for a resolution, why are the 3 million people in Armenia still poor? Why don't they have jobs in their own country? Is it so hard to create jobs for those people? And most importantly, why is it me, the "evil Turk", who is thinking about the welfare of those people? Why isn't it the diaspora Armenians?

Well spoken, Blunt , excellent answer...

And I agree also with Mehmet K and Cetin.

Is this a new joke? Everyday European countries (and the US) deport so many foreigners who entered their countries illegally, or are staying there illegally. This is the first time I hear of Turkey deporting Armenian citizens.

Hmmm. Do propaganda while in your country, then come to turkey to steal the jobs of the turkish citizens? Only something the armenians would dare to do.

Find another door. Go to glendale for instance.

Sorry, My Fault ...

?
whats ur point? nothing wrong with deporting illegals.

oh well thats just ur opinion dear kanguroo, and to be honest i doubt most ppl give a flying fuk what u think . Curtains for u if u think i m arrsed about what you say about me over the internet.

Joannah
I don't think so. Those who came out with that probably thinks everyone will lap it up in sympathy of them. That is what you call "pushing it for all its worth."

They are so obviously dumb to think one would buy into that Bulls*hit. Well maybe some would like those here, but not the majority. Maybe they got their info mixed up again with France and Sarkozy.

To the answerer above me:
If Armenians will always be Armenian and things wouldnt go their way? How do you think they will go about and manage to pull of assasinating those in Congress like they did those Turkish diplomats. Death by cappucino perhaps?

I wouldn't be surprise, Turk, is always a Turk,
I read many answerer's comments, that Armenian should not been in Turkey in the first place, Turks, look at your citizens, you are all over the world, scrolling illegally in all European countries, even the USA. Before jumping to conclusion and start arresting people, call on your people from our countries, any how, justice will prevail soon or later, the paged in the lying book has ended, Turkey no more pages, no more lies.

Abby lane
How can the country of Turkey justify its threats and actions knowing that it doesn't change the views of our leaders and lawmakers, but create panic among them.

Turkey's retaliation is going to put our US troops in harms way. This is not rational behavior on their part.

Is it not important to Turkey that even if they succeed in stopping the resolution from being passed, they can never succeed in changing congress's recognition of the Armenian Genocide?

Shouldn't whats in peoples hearts be more of and issue then whats on a piece of paper?

Dr. Beemer
Its not a surprise I was even expecting some killings. By law the government can and should deport illegal immigrants. They are most likely being deported because of the Armenian Genocide resolution in USA, but they shouldn't have been there in the first place.

There is more than one million Armenians in Turkey that are either living in fear, or don't even know that they are Armenian, or have been converted to Islam by force and forgot the past and live as a Turk.

If the Turks have so much money and are so rich to pay off people like Speaker Hastert to deny the genocide and spend thousands on PR Firms to build their image, why are Turks so poor. Why are their tons of illegal Turks in Gemany working jobs like making kebobs and cleaning the floors?
Turkey is the USAs Mexico.

Alrighty now enough my sleeve
is soaked from the forced tears
of grunt who now claims she
cares more for the Armenians
then the Armenians. Its a sick
game for her and she is playing
every imaginable angle she can
for what, sympathy HA...every
other sentence out of your yapper
is about the ASALA a far cry from the PKK
which she hardly ever mentions somehow
I get the feeling your objective is
only to amplify more of a racist image
for your country. Then people in this section
have the gaul to bring up the Artin Pentik the
one poor soul who agreed with the
Turks and burned himself alive over it.
What was the purpose of it to remind
us of the torture and grief the Armenian- turkish
people must endure in Turkey.
They should get the hell out of there
anyway the entire country has not
shown one ounce of movement toward
democracy and probably never will.
The poverty Armenia suffers today
is a reminder that Turkeys malicious
acts against Armenians still continues,
by land locking them
turkey can add another
crime against humanity to their list.

Artistic Hand
Why should Ankara start to arrest people?

Dont you think that there must be a CRIME in the first place for an arrest to take place?

Only France can do such silly and stupid things.... Turkey has democracy.... BYE
