yes i've been there, i stayed in a c*** hotel tho so my stay wasn't nice, the markets are good tho and the restaurants are nice too! had a good holiday overall.

I agree with homersen the driving in Turkey is the worst i've ever seen! me and my ex were bricking it in their cabs! they don't need any sort of mot out there so the car doors are held together with like shoelaces! make sure you belt up!

Apparently it's quite nice, but thing have to bear in mind is the popularity of these types of places. My parents live there so they're used to it by now!.......

Bix
Yes, when I was 6... It was beautiful like many other places in Turkey.

i went last summer! it was amazing. the scenery is awesome and everyone is polite. you can get hassled in the markets to buy things but just walk away n they leave you alone, dont worry its not rude:)
it is very very warm over there too so be warned.

overall i think it is a fantasic place, full of history and character.

i agree with what claire k has to say, we went & loved it, just be aware of the touts etc. great food, beach, history (red tower) people & shops. but whereever you go in turkey go for a proper turkish bath, best ones are ones that you go to on your own, not with travel company reps, go on your own you get better deals & service. enjoy we sure did.

Yes, i have been there and i like there a lot. The coast is lovely beaches are long long long:-)
There are also a lot of historical places to see.
My best experience was eating fresh fish in Dim River. I say in the river because the restaurant is built on the river and while eating your meal your feet touch the water. Such a nice feeling.
There is a little bit outside of Alanya a place called Anatolian Village where women make incredible home food and there is a pool and animals, ducks etc... so adults and kids can enjoy a very nice place.
I really loved Alanya.
Well, about the sales people last year i was in Cannes,France and local sales people were running behind us to sell their goods so this is something Mediterranean. They don't do anything bad.
Enjoy the beauty and have fun...
