People still live in Chernobyl. They aren't really supposed to but they have no other place to live. So they moved back into their old houses they once lived in and even garden in the radiated soil. |

I looked into it seriously on my last trip to Kyiv. I have to say, I plan to do this someday but not until after I have my kids. |

There are special tours organized for the ones interested. But I saw the detailed photo reporting from Chernobyl on the internet at one specially designed web-site by some foreigner. It is the return to the Soviet era to some extent. |

I came back with 2 schlongs and a third nipple, don't recommend a tour. Seriously why would anyone want to visit an abandoned NUCLEAR meltdown site? SERIOUSLY! |

No but this site has some pretty good photos

Would I recommend a tour? Not really. If you take the proper precautions you can reduce the amount of radiation that gets on you. Still, I don't think it's a safe place to be in. There's a reason it's almost abandoned. |

I have been there.I will recommend you to go there if:
1)You have no problems with your health.
2)You are brave enough.
3)You know Russian-or you won`t understand anything.
Good luck-and be careful! That`s not a Disneyland-this trip can really kill you!I have stayed alive, but it doesn`t mean you will... |

Eh. I don't think there's really anything to see. It was just an accident. Instead of using a water moderator like most do, they used coal. Which caught fire. There was a lot of radiation in the confined space, and it killed a few thousand from radiation illness and cancers, but it's not much of a risk now.
It's really just the same as seeing a fire site. Not much else. I would invest your money into seeing something better. |
