Sounds like a "North Sea Ferries" mini-cruise?!
I've been ona couple... And they are great fun.
Amsterdam is wonderful if you like "high culture" and art... There are plenty of museums and galleries and the waterways are great. It takes a long time to get there though from the port so you don't get long in the city itself.
Bruges is also a great litrle place... You'll enjoy Bruge more if you're into history and architecture... And it's also famous for Beer and Chocolate so two added bonuses there!
Either way, it's a nice trip... Personally, I prefer Bruges as it's a little less touristy... Both places are about the same for food and drink prices, but the food (in my opnion) is a bit better in Bruges... It's probably on par with british prices to be fair, but shop around for your Euros... |

Both places are great. Depends what you like, and what you are looking for. Amsterdam is wild, and has a lot of culture. Bruge is like a fairy tale town. |

My friend has been to Amsterdam and she said it was amazing. She said the food is ok but if you know where to look it is amazing. The sights are like nothing you have ever seen. She said it was one of the best trips ever besides Paris! It is even more enjoyable if you are with your parents, kids, boyfriend, or husband. You will have a great time. |

Bruges is much more "quaint" than Amsterdam. Amsterdam probably better for the younger person, but dont go there on a tight budget. |

They are both worth a visit and very different, but I think Bruges is more interesting with its fabulous, colourful buildings and its folklore atmosphere. The prices in Bruges are similar to UK, perhaps slightly higher, while Amsterdam is generally more expensive.
Dining out was better in Bruges, with inexpensive drinks and lots of variety. The shops are more swish in Amsterdam, but also expensive. There are more markets in Bruges with art and craft, or antique bargains on sale.
It is obviously a matter of personal preferences, but we had a long weekend in both places and would like to return to Bruges as we thoroughly enjoyed the experience there. |

Bruges is quite small, and can be visited in a day or so. It is very touristy and will cost a fair amount.
Amsterdam is more like a "real city" and the proces vary much more accoring to area.
Amsterdam needs longer to see.
Neither place is "better than the other", but somehow I have better emories of Bruges. |

Been to both, both different - Bruges more compact & quaint - Amsterdam more cosmopolitain & lively - with a bit of research you can eat & drink quite cheaply, I couldn`t recommend one above the other I would return to either!!! |

I've been to both destinations on a mini cruise, and can recommend both. If your staying for the day, then I'd recommend Bruge, if your staying over night in a hotel, then I'd recommend Amsterdam. |

I've been to both and would recommend Amsterdam over Bruges (Brugge). |
