Has anyone herd of a shipping company called milasen expeditions in Lisbon Portugal ?

I have just pulled out of buying a high spec Volvo at a knockdown price. It all seemed a bit fishy. Milasen were too efficient, answering emails instantly as if they had nothing else to do. They got a bit pushy with me to sign the contract. At the end of the day, giving Â£18,000 to an unknown company for a car I'd never seen in another country was more of a risk than I was prepared to take. My bank advised me that despite Milasen's supposed guarantees, if the car never turned up I would have a real job recovering the money. I spoke to the seller whose name was very English and he sounded very Portugese. Maybe it's my loss and guess I'll never know but at least I have not lost Â£18,000
ADDITIONAL INFO: There is obviously a sophisticated scam going on here but cannot work out if Milasen is innocently caught up in it or if they are fictional and part of the scam. Two different cars, sold by people with different names, have the same Lisbon phone number. The V5 my seller emailed me was either fake or tampered with. So now I know at least I have saved myself from losing the Â£18,000! There is no question there is a scam going on here. Perhaps the people defending Milasen have something to do with it?

I have also tried to buy a luxury Volvo worth Â£18k. The funny thing was the company has no telephone number on its web site, after requesting for one I was given one with a German country code when the company is supposed to be in Portugal. Also the seller always communicated with me via e-mail. When I requested for a contact number, strangely the country code was also German (and he was supposed to now live in Portugal)!! Also both seller and Milasen were unable to provide me with the V5 details -saying they were sealed with the car and could not be opened. This is a big flag, HPi warned me today never to pay up front especially when you have no proof of the V5 document. Buyer be aware!! Finally HPi flagged up saying numerous people had contacted them about the same Volvo and apparently more than one person was being shipped the same car!!

Hi to everyone! People, wake up! I am a regular customer of Milasen Expeditions and I have used them for over 3 years! Not shipping cars, like you have mentioned, other small objects, art objects, but with a HIGH VALUE! I take it this is a topic issued by one of their main competitors and you know who you are!!! As I see that only these people are posting yahoo answers to your stupid topic, I am here to help. They are in Lisbon, THEY HAVE VERY GOOD SERVICES, low cost... these 3 simple reasons prove that the competitors have several reasons to be afraid of them! It is a shame people like you ruin the image for a GREAT company like MILASEN! This company includes a lot of international workforce! SHAME YOU PEOPLE!

Hello, my english is not very good, as I am from Portugal. I try to write you here an answer as I see their ofice everyday. I go to my work and I see MILASEN building each day. They have the ofice near a bank and they have a very nice building! I have never use them before, I can only tell you this things. They are here, in Lisboa, for sure.

My son works for Milasen for over 4 years, he is now the Financial Department director. So I am in a position I can confirm that my son is one of their empoyee. The rest of it, regarding the cars you have mentioned about, I don't know.. but I know form my son that they are a shipping company, so they are not trading cars! Maybe the persons you mentioned here are just using Milasen's name to do bad things, but the company has nothing to do with selling cars.

i was buying a car but have noticed that some other people were also buying the car at the same time, i have checked it out the company no one seems to have heard of Milasen. Same scenario as mentioned before by someone contact details in Germany but seller in Lisbon and Milasen gave us UK fax details etc. Which all seems pretty strange. Also the person selling the car (TG) to me is also selling it to other people.

MAKE SURE YOU GET EVERYTHING CHECKED WITH HPI. IF TINY BIT UNSURE DO NOT PART WITH MONEY ESPECIALLY BEFORE CAR IS OUTSIDE YOUR DOOR.

I would personally leave well alone.

Yes, I've used them in the past, they are very good with their services and have little delays.
They don't only ship cars, they ship industrial material and other type of goods as well.
ADDITIONAL INFO: As I see there are a lot of people talking about Milasen, again they are ok, they have very good and prompt services. What seems so weird if they answer your emails promptly? I think you guys have some problems... or these answers are posted by one of their competitors!!!!! I think that's the true! If you can not have what they have, don't do this, as it is not an honest attitude!

Hi,

We have heard of these people and are checking out a Range Rover ourselves being shipped with this company. We found the advert in Top Marques Mag. When we emailed seller he said he had just moved to Portugal and would have the car shipped over if we wanted to look at it. He had a very English name, but a very foreign accent. Having looked at the answers to your question we are now very suspiciious. Be careful!

Hi I have heard of them as I am looking to possibly buy a car that is supposed to be being shipped by them - out of interest what car is it that you are looking at as I am also interested in finding out if they are pukka!

I think that the whole thing is a real scam last week when I showed interest in the car I was told that the same story english guy now moved to Portugal will ship car back through Milasen. I could ony get to Milasen through the link - No search engines found the company - Suddenly they are to be found on google etc odly enough at the same time as we are all interested in the cars that are being sold. Does anyone else feel that there is a strong smell of fish around here - keep your cash dude!!
