I'm from the US, but have also lived in Scotland, Sweden and currently Norway. I've travelled most of western Europe.

You can save money by staying in hostels or bed and breakfasts/guest houses. A single bed in one of these usually costs $20-35 per night. If you're feeling adventurous, you could try couchsurfing, which is free. You stay with local hosts who open their house to travellers.

Cheapest flights are usually found on a European-based flight comparison site. Midweek flights are cheapest, try major airports/cities in your area to find the best prices.

I hope you find a way to travel, it's a wonderful experience :)

Paris and Rome. Just start saving money, put off spending on things like movies, music and other non essential stuff and definitely go.

Only to Mexico and Canada. I did go over the Pacific to Hawaii a couple of times but since it's a state I don't think it counts for this question.

I've been to Indonesia, the Netherlands and Mexico. I have family in the Netherlands, Indonesia, Germany, Thailand and Mexico. My daughter and family are in Mexico for a year. She's a nurse in an American school and he teaches English. I'm a little bit nervous about them being there, but I will just have to trust that God is watching over them. Thanks. :)

I have been to Paris, throughout Italy, Athens and a small Greek Island. I have also visited our northernly neighbor, Canada. I too wish to travel to the UK as well as many other European countries.

The farthest I have been is Hawaii, twice. but this is considered the US.
I don't think, at my age and circumstance, I will ever leave this country.
