Yes, many times. A close friend moved to Budapest so I went visiting quite often, different seasons and periods of stay. Must say we've had some good times&some bad times, but you're bound to when you are a frequent visitor, right? On the whole, I like Hungary, especially Budapest. It's easy to find entertainment and peace, whatever you prefer. The only thing I'd change, or have more of, are the green areas in Pest. Not enough parks in the city centre. But the atmosphere and the variety of things on offer make up for that.
My next visit will probably be around Xmas.

edit: You bet I know AndrÃ¡ssy and all other streets&avenues! My friend kept relocating from DohÃ¡ny to WesselÃ©ny , and more:) so I'm pretty well accustomed to wandering the streets of Pest Bezirks. Don't be so unjust to Buda; there's this great restaurant Remiza I think (cannot remember the name) where the food was tops!):)

It's a great place to visit. I drove to Budapest from Bratislava, by way of Gyor... if I had had more time during that weekend I'd've explored more of Hungary, of course. Budapest is well worth the drive, however--absolutely gorgeous city. I would definitely not hesitate to visit again, were the opportunity to present itself.

We went to Budapest last summer. It was a very nice city. Lots to see and not as infested with tourist as many other European cities. The people were friendly and helpful, though the percentage that speak English is lower then a lot of European cities.

I would visit happily visit Hungary again.

I live there, in Budapest!
Usually I don't realize how beautiful this city is..-especially at night! 'Cause it's so natural that I can see Danube with its bridges and the castle in Buda etc. anytime I wish for..
But sometimes I wonder how impressive can it be to see for the first time. It's spectacular, I'm sure of that.
And I wasn't lopsided at all :)

I went to Budapest last year and had a great time. We found it charming, quiet and people were generally helpful. It's also a lot cleaner than some western European countries. We did get conned by a taxi driver (the fare was 3200, we wanted to give him 4000 but we had a 5000 note. he gave us back 200ft...) and some metro guys (7000 ft each!) but other than that it was good. I also liked the food . Gundel has a very reasonable set lunch .

Let's not forget the Tokaji;)

I came here from England 4 years ago andnever went back. I love it and always recomend it to friends.

I live in Buda (II District) I wouldnt say it was boring and its much more greener than Pest. Also things happen if you make them happen. Even in Buda!!

No, but my friend has. He got robbed in Budapest, sadly. He said the police were rude when he went there. I'm not sure if I even want to visit Hungary.
