Its beautiful, Gale beach near Alburfiera is the cleanest weve ever been to and has life gaurds. Lovely walks along the cliff tops takes you to remote beaches. It was our first time in Sept but we definately going back in May going to hire a car.

Oh yes, we stayed in a private apartment in Vilamoura, but all of The Algarve is beautiful, and has some lovely beaches; Albufiera, Lagos, wonderful! ( Just remember though, that this is the atlantic, and the sea can be very cold!!)

Gorgeous, though I am originally from Portugal, so I may be biased.
Also highly recommend that you visit the Azores ( Mid Atlantic archipelago part of Portugal). There is no place quite like them on earth.

Spent nine days in Lisbon last June, had an absolutely lovely time.

Stayed in the Alfama district of the city.

Lisbon is quaint enough for a day...then train west to a charming village/small town called Sintra and visit the palace at the top of a very wooded mountain...Get up there by bus and maybe a slow walk down. After that i would train up to the middle of the country...then up north, even as far up as Vigo.

Its a nice country .

Yes. I've spent months there. Love the climate, the people and the food. Try and get off the beaten track, visit some of the cities. It's a beautiful country.
