Yes I do.
Up-side good weather good food cheap beer and smokes. Slower lifestyle.
Down-side winter very very quiet.
I am far happier since moving here no stress,no rushing around etc. I quite often forget what day it is aint. that great.
Work, not much but I,m lucky I don't have to. |

Not yet, was waiting to get enough money. But I plan on
spending 3 to 6 months out of the year on the Aegean Islands
They have all the modern conveniences with really great night
life in the clubs for both young and old. No smog(I live in LA),
traffic is light and things are not much more expensive than
in the US. I live right next to the beach, so I bathe in the Aegean.
There are plenty of out door activities. Hill climbing, cycling,
swimming, hiking, fishing, boating, etc. A lot of fresh vegetables,
herbs, and meats and fish. If you need junk food they have it,
including 6 or 7 varieties of Lays chips, and even Coke light.
They don't call it Diet Coke in Europe.

My one brother decided 7 years ago to move to Rhodes. He is perfectly happy there. He is a vet.The life style is easy going, you do not see the ugliness of the big city, you do not inhale pollution, people are not in a hurry all the time.Cousins of mine also live on a couple of Greek islands. They mostly work in the tourism fields It can be a bit boring in winter but if you have friends and family you get along with it is better than Athens where I live ! |

I moved to Rhodes because of my job it was ok but i didn't really like Rhodes, Now i live in Cyprus ok not an Aegean Island but i'm very happy, I love the chilled out life of living abroad and the boiling hot days esp when you don't have to do anything, I work for a Tour Operator so i do get to move about a lot but i'm loving life in cyprus so going to stay for a while. Pitfalls - Being away from Friends and family but you get use to it you make new friends and they all tend to come and visit loads and i go back to the uk once a yr (cause that is all i can stand!) |

I was working as a civil engineer in Santorini island, Cyclades. I have been there for a couple of years. I had much work to do but I'm still dreaming that period.
The life was calm, no pollution, no many cars, no crowded areas, easy parking and all the citizens are friends of me. Every morning, I say good morning to everybody because I know who he/she was! Nice life.
I will come back when my husband retires.
Now I'm working as a painter and usually I spend some days in Aegean islands during winter or summer, but I don't live there. |

Hello dear!
Well, geologically, the first piece of land surfaced above sea level, some billion years ago was the Aegean! After a long time, the islands were formed!!
Thus, the Aegean islands are very "experienced"! More than any other place on earth. That is why just being there you feel the energy and love of Mother Earth!
The seasons are there, present and sometimes annoying! But, they are reviving our bodies!
People are sharp and gentle, wild and generous!
Organization sucks, but Nature satisfies.
In case you have some income, or a local job, this life time experience brings you to real paradise: the Aegean Blue! |

Not yet, but I dream of doing just that. Symi is one I enjoyed on a day trip when I had a holiday in Rhodes. It's pretty, remote enough, but still has Internet access. Perfect! |
