I have heard about it because there was a girl in my old school who moved to the UK from Lithuania a year or so ago!

I'm Lithuanian. At least half. My grandparents came over to the United States in 1910. When my grandmother came over she met my great grandfather (her father) boarding the boat in New York heading back to Lithuanaina with a new wife. He tried to convice her to return but she stayed and worked in New York as a domestic before hearing Rhode Island was just like 'the old country'. She took the train there, eventually met my grandfather who was also Lithuanian and they married and the rest is history.
So my late father was always proud of his Lithuanian heritage and so am I. As it stands there is a large amount of family in Rhode Island with the same last name as me and somehow we're all related.
I also know the Chicago has a very large population of Lithuanians. Upton Sinclair wrote "The Jungle" which was all about the Lithuanians working in the meat packing indutry (as well as Socialisim).

Svakatis!

Here's what I know about Lithuania:

Former member of USSR. Still has a lot of Russian living there. I've read something about voting issues with Russian and Lithuanians, and the Russians living there feel left out.
It's cold there - very cold.
A lot of cool, old castles and haunts.
Lithuania Knights were powerful shock troops against the muslims back several hundred years ago.
I think Lithuania now a member of the Euro Union, right?

I know that you have a very high crime rate and the police get easily bribed. I know this 15 year old who was driving and he gave the police 40 pound and they let him go :D

happybunnyluvsme
Yeah my sister told me about it...until I fell asleep.-no offense but my sister makes everything sound boring.

MissMolly
Yes. I think most people have heard of Lithuania well at least anyone who has taken geography class. I would have to say i don't know a lot i know it is over by Poland/Russia and is about the size of an American state either than that i would have to say sorry Americans are not very cultured, but just so you don't feel bad most Americans couldn't even tell you all the states in our own country.
