Not unless you update it - no chance - they make no exceptions.
You need to make an appointment straight away at your nearest passport office - even then there are no guarantees and you have to pay more.
Good luck
FTR Mr Alan - no such thing as a year passport now! |

Hi, you will need to visit one of the passport offices and pay for a same day service (which is v expensive), get your photo's done, and have his birth certificate ready, if you can get there for about 9am, it should be done by lunchtime, if you leave it any later, the queues are horrendous, one of the other answers states about EU membership, this has no differnce at all, you still need a valid passport
Good luck |

Wilfred - I had loads of year passports when I was a kid - they WERE issued by the post office, I still have one of them!! I don;t think they are in use any more but they were in the 80's and 90's in the UK. |

well...you could apply for a new passport...i think there's some place in manchester, or was it liverpool? not too sure. my brother needed a new passport and we got his the day before we actually flew out. if he gets a new passport, i don't think he's going to need a visa. |

Ring this number NOW!
If one year passports are still available, no problem, you get them from a post office, but I am not sure that they are still issued.

!!!!!!!!!!!!READ THIS ONE!!!!!!!!!!
Call your local post office (there is a passport person there that might give you info on what you can do) or log on to www. travel.state.gov or you can also call 1877-487-2778 that's the national passport information center ( they take for ever to pick up but you just keep dialing until they do... that's what I did when my father in law passed away last April and had to travel out of the coutry). Don't know where you live, but you might even want to go to your local passport (federal) office ( but you need to call first and even if they tell you your appt. is at noon ... you get there before they open)). I'm in southern California and the office here is in west los angeles/ brentwood (close to UCLA). you might need to go to your local passport office with airline tickets in hand, new passport fotos, application for renewal of passport, $67 for passport renewal fee (but since you need it NOW there is a $60 additional fee) , his birth certificate and son's current passport .
Remember you must contact the passport office before going there (they are swamped with people too so you need to get there before they open).
Hope this helped GOOD LUCK. |

Div. You should have thought of this before. They won't let you travel, so phone up your nearest passport centre and see if there is anything you can do. Sometimes, for a ridiculous fee, they will rush a passport through in a day, but I don't know if they still do it.
You need to have everything together - old passport, birth certificates, ID, all sorts. Check what you need before you go and start gathering it now.
Alternatively...he stays at home. |

why don't you ring thee passport office, you can get their number from th website, and ask if you can make an emergency appointment to get a renewal in their offices, not sure if you can though, or if its only adults that can do that, i really hope you will be able to do this, as you are going to have one very disappointed boy on your hands otherwise |

Hi, No not if it is out of date, my friends son's passport was out of date and he had to go to Cardiff as our local passport office was closed. He missed his flight to Cyprus as it takes a full morning/afternoon to get a replacement, and he only flew out two day's later. It costs more to get a replacement passport,i think it's around Β£90.00 you are going to have to go to your nearest passport office and que don't forget you may need a new passport photograph. |

u will need to call the 24 hour passport helpline to see if u can get an appt for friday or saturday to do the premium service where u go to the passport office and its done same day. my daughter did this recently u hand in the paperwork, then go back in 4 hrs to collect it. its quite expensive (Β£108 for her but thats an adult childs may be cheaper) but probably cheaper than cancelling your holiday. get on the phone quickly. good luck |

That may depend on your citizenship. If you're an EEC citizen maybe. If you are a US Citizen you will have to get it renewed. You should call the state department right away.
Do NOT go to the post office within 14 days of your trip. Even the web site tells you to call and make an appointment. DO IT NOW.
IF you and your son are american citizens. |

i'm sorry to say,
but re-newing a passport can take quite awhile,
and is a long process,
such as taking an ID photo,
and then seeing an agent to confirm your son's passport,
this can possibly take weeks |

With all the new passport regulations and such you will have to get a valid passport for your child to travel, you have always needed a passport to travel to Europe - this is nothing new. I don't know what area your in but there are two places by me (NYC and Conn.) that you get it while you wait as long as you have an appointment as well as a airline ticket showing you are leaving in less then two weeks. |

Yes, you should be fine. Take his current passport with you as proof of his ID. As Spain is part of the EEC - I believe that you have one year to get another one. You might want to double check with the passport office. |
