In Switzerland they speak a French dialect. French is also widely spoken in Morocco and many other parts of North Africa like Egypt and Libya.

French is also one of three official languages of Luxembourg and is spoken in Monaco and Andorra. It is an official language in several Italian provinces as well!

I hope that helps!

French is:
- the only official language in France and Monaco
- one of the official languages in Belgium, Luxembourg, and Switzerland, and Italy (only the province of Aosta Valley)
- although predominantly English speaking French is also an official language on the Channel Islands (Guernsey and Jersey): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Channel_Islands#Culture

As XiaoHui C posted French is commonly spoken only in some Cantons of Switzerland which are located in the western part close to the French border. In Andorra French is commonly spoken though not an official language.

If there's more than one official language don't expect everybody speaking all of them. In Switzerland there are 4 official languages (French, German, Italian, Romansh), but e.g. in Ticino (Tessin), the italian speaking canton I met a lot of people only understanding Italian.

1) Belgium
2) Luxembourg
3) Monaco
4) Switzerland - applies only to the french speaking cantons of Geneva, Vaud, Neuchatel, and Jura as well as the French-speaking parts of the cantons of Berne, Valais, and Fribourg

Actually, French is the official (or one of the official) language(s) in the following European nations: France, Belgium, Luxemburg and Switzerland.

It is of course, spoken elsewhere in Europe in countries like Andorra, which is pretty much split between French and Spanish; but it isnt the official language there.
