I honestly have no idea who told you such B.S. and where they got it from. It does not matter what color skin you have if you are a tourist your chances of being sold into prostitution are non existent. The skin also does not play a role on raping. Your attitude and behavior plays a role in that. If you behave like an easy woman, get drunk and pass out in the club or on the streets there is a chance that some one will take advantage of that, but you are more likely to only get rubbed , and that can happen in any city and any country in the world.
As for girls being kidnapped and sold into prostitution that does happen but not that often and it also does not matter what type of skin you have. The girls that are kidnapped are usually from the village and they go themselves to these pimps looking for a job abroad. Some of them know that the advertisement that was asking for young girls that canâ€™t do anything and are outgoing is saying between the lines that they need someone to sell their body abroad, others are just naÃ¯ve and think that there is this great job that is going to pay them $$$$ a month for almost nothing. These people are desperate, they need the money to feed their elderly parents, brothers, sisters and often their children, and they are being taken advantage of. Once they reach a foreign country, usually Turkey, Greece, or Italy, their passports are taken away and they are told that they owe enormous amounts of money and if they donâ€™t pay up their family members will get hurt and the only way of getting that money back is to prostitute.
There are also many colored women in these countries that prostitute and they were stolen from their homelands the same way. Not every one prefers European looking girls some prefer Asian, others colored and still others prefer boys.
If you are going to Russia I would not worry about that at all. More than that if you are colored you are more likely to attract attention because of your skin color and some people are still not used to that. But it is not dangerous in anyway. Even skin heads donâ€™t touch women.

Who told you about kidnapping in Russia? It might happen only in the troublesome parts of the country like Chechnya - but tourists don't usually go there. And, besides, the kidnappers don't care about your being a European - they might take anyone.
Russian girls have problems in some Asian countries - they get kidnapped there.
Russia itself is pretty safe for foreigners.
What can happen to a colored girl travelling alone?
1) In minor cities she's going to be looked at by a lot of people - they don't have people like that there - let's forgive them for their curiosity.
2) Nothing - in big cities - nobody cares.
3) Something bad - if she decides to walk alone at night at a dark place especially if she's drunk. But it might happen even in her hometown.

i did not know color was an issue,all females should be careful regardless.What horror stories are you hearing about Russia anyway,just stay away from the dark alleys,and why the heck are you going if you are scared.

nemtyrevy and yuliyasa2003, how can you say that Turkey has discrimination of colored people? We have many Turks of african origins as well as lots of foreigners living in Turkey.

Some colored celebrities in Turkey;

1. Previous year's Turkish beauty queen is a colored girl.
2. We have a popular VJ - actress.
3. There was a singer very famous in the 70's, passed away a few years ago. May she rest in peace.

Don't judge us with your prejudices. Every year, millions of Russian tourists come to Turkey for their holidays. So you people should know better than this.

I think it's those Russian skinheads you have to worry about. If it's in the daytime, you probably are relatively safe. Just stay in major places of interests.

I would not worry much about being kidnapped, but I would worry about drunken hooligans, especially in the evening.

don't worry you'll be fine!!! And yes, as said one of the answerers Russia is not like Turkey, Egypt and etc... to go there is always a risk.

I would stay in well lit, public areas travelling around Russia as a colored woman. You are either going to get dirty looks, or someone is going to want to take a picture with you because there are not many colored people in Russia. If you go out at night avoid any large groups of drunk teens and skinheads. As long as you don't go out looking for trouble you should be fine. You can check with your local embassy for additional info about crimes against minorities.

Statistically you are much more likely to be a victim of a random crime in one of the major US cities than in Russia so unless you go looking for trouble you will be fine. Eastern Europeans in general are not too ethnically diverse so you will get looked at.

Human traffickers? I know that goes on there, but I don't know if they kidnap any black women. Black or white, you're still a female so be on the alert all the time especially as a tourist. I've heard about the Russian Skinheads, they kill "black people", but it's usually the middle-eastern and asian people who they refer to as "black". I don't know how they treat actual black people, African-Americans.
