Holiday advice needed please. We want to go somewhere cultural, warm in europe, not to pricey? |
My boyfriend wont do turkey.
We both like sightseeing and doing ancient ruins etc, but we'd also like a pool and a modicum of nightlife and restaurants. A beach isnt essential. Good weather for spetember is.
I need somewhere reasonably priced in europe with culture, bars, restaurants and warm enough pool water to swim in!
I cant think of anywhere to be honest. Anyone got any suggestions?
We have done english holidays for 2 years so please dont suggest england as we live here!
basically it has to be more than a beach holiday because it needs sightseeing stuff.
Thanks |

Here in Romania would be good for you :)
We are the poorest country in the EU sadly, the good part being that prices are very cheap.
We have a long stretch of beach and transport for travelling is not expensive.
Our main beach area is Constanta on the black sea, very hot!!
and train travel is very cheap and efficient.
A train from Constanta to Bucharest will cost you 35 RON - that is 6 british pounds and it is afterall a 4/5 hour journey but very scenic.
bucharest to timisoara next to serbia will cost you 90 RON that's about 19 pounds return and it is 10 hours on the train.
In romania you can choose which class of train you want and which type: Personal - cheapest(not recommended, gypsy express in other words), accelerate, and the best being Rapid and Intercity, that's what i gave you prices for.
Here there is lots to see.
A fantastic, roasting hot beach area stretching hundreds of kilometres, many resorts like Mamaia for clubs, dancing etc.
CHEAP CHEAP transport
1 beer - 2.50 ron, 48pence roughly per can!
20 cigarettes 6 ron - 1.20 pounds
Hotels in Constanta can be expensive but if you base yourself in another city, you may find cheaper - contact me, i can help.
Black sea,
Transylvania,
Mountains (The carpathians)
Danube river,
Stungingly beautiful countryside,
People who still live in the old way
Hospitable.
it's a good place to go :)

How about a Greek island? Cyprus - lots to see and do and usually has good weather - most people speak English - beaches are stunning in some areas and lots of history. |

Try some of the Greek Islands. Athens is very good. There is a lot of local history, there are great beaches too.
Enjoy |

Any of the Greek Islands - Kos is one that has lots of culture, good beaches, pretty good night life and loads of ruins to go and see. |

Croatia would be great. Fantastic beaches and lots of culture but choose a good 4star hotel.
A better priced would be Crete and Rhodes. These are the 2 largest Greek islands with plenty to see and do. You will have the nightlife if wanted and culture. You could also island hop and see some more.
Have a great holiday |
