Holiday destination? |
we want to go on holiday with our teenage twin girls during the first two weeks of july, it will be the first time that we can go out of term time as they will have just left school. We want a place with good weather, near the sea but with other attractions such as markets and shops etc, we dont want them getting board as we have done that and its not good! Also we dont want to go to a place that is too touristy....nightclubs, cheap lager and all day breakfasts etc are definately out! If you have been somewhere recently please let me know the details |

Protaras, Cyprus, has just about everything you need all in one place!! Great beaches, bars, restaurants, waterpark etc, but is just a short bus ride /taxi to Agia Napa....and no, its not all nightclubs and booze cruises!! There is loads to do here....some great beaches;Liminaki Beach, Nisi Beach, Adams Beach, Makronisoss Beach, shops, bars, restaurants, funfair, and a huge waterpark. also, you can take a cruise along the coastline to Famagusta, for as little as £2.50! Bargain!
Cyprus is safe and friendly, and there is loads to see and do!! You could take a trip up to the Troodos Mountains, or go along to Paphos.
The first two weeks in July is a great time to come, as you will beat the crowds arriving for the main weeks, and the weather is wonderful here then!!
I live just a short drive from both Agia Napa and Protaras!

Edit:
Just a thought, this is a new venture which should be up and running by the Spring!! It has actually been set up by a friend of ours who used to work in Protaras.....this place is actually in Serbia....but is aimed at appealing to all tastes, whether its lazing on a beach, sightseeing, or trying different sports. You would have your own log cabin accommodation, and have your own 'host' on hand, 24 hours a day to help orgainise whatever activity you want to do!! Take a look at;

If you are looking for a place near a beach, California is perfect. try San Diago. its not as touristy as one might think, and its great for teenagers, with atractions like sea-world and disney land. there are large shopping malls, and things to do near the beach, but aslo small quite places in the area where you might want to consider staying. hotels can range from 4 star resorts to small beach B&Bs. hope that helps! |

Stay in La Pineda on the Costa Dorada. (Low cost flight there)
The beach is huge, there's a market in the centre once a week, the Aquasol water park in right in the centre, there's enough shops etc to keep you busy, and if you want a lot more, Salou is 10mins up the road.
See this lot.
PS Stayed here 5 time recently and going back this summer for 2 weeks |

Italy...it will be heaving with tourists, but it has heaps to offer whereever you go...the weather should be great and its varied.
I would also say Croatia....but it dpeneds on how long you are there....its pretty, cheaper than Italy, has amazing coastlines etc but its quite small. I would hire a car as there are only buses that go up and down the coast...although in summer there are ferries that go frequently ( or more often than they did when I went in April!)...you can go to islands as well. There would be less touristy and less nightclubs, but cheaper than other places in Europe..... |
