How are Australian's viewed in your part of the world?

We had a story on the television recently saying that Australians arent viewed to favourably as tourists in the U.K and Europe. So I was just wondering what your views of Australians are?

I“m from Finland and many Finns have emigrated to Australia and what I“ve heard they just love it there. I have friends who have been to Australia recently and they just loved it there. I would like to visit your country too some day. I“ve heard that there is so many nice things to see there and I have never heard a bad word spoken about you Australians. Welcome to Europe.

I'm from the USA, and I like aussies just fine. They seem to have many of the same ideals we have here, but they actually live them, instead of mere lip service like here. And I love the fact that you require eligible voters to actually vote. Here, we're lucky to get a 25 % turnout in a NATIONAL election. I'm talking about an election to choose the "leader of the free world"! I also love an aussie accent. Come visit, mate! We'll throw another shrimp on the barbie!

To me they are just people like everyone else. I don't judge people.

As an American, Austrailians are extremely lucky to live in such a beautiful country, and such nicely mannered people. I had a friend who was from there, and she always had friends visiting here and everyone of them seemed very laid back and nice.......I'd say Austrailians are probably viewed more favorably than Americans......deservedly so!!!!

I live in Canada, in a region where both skiing and wineries are rampant. As such we have tons of Aussies who come to work here, mostly during the ski season. I've also come across a lot of Aussies while traveling in Asia and Europe.

Overall, I would say that in Canada Aussies are viewed as good natured, fun-loving folks. Good, upbeat attitudes. Friendly and outgoing. A bit louder than other cultures, but in a good way. I know in our region of Canada we have nothing but good things to say about the Aussies who come to stay here. And yeah - we love the accent!

In the United States, Steve Irwin was the only Australian. When he kicked it, you all ceased to exist.

Sorry.
