Both are frontier countries, meaning most of the land is occupied by settlers of the past 150 or so years.

Both dominate their sphere of the world.

I have to disagree with you regarding non hard alcohol. American beer and wine (at least the locally produced versions) are far superior to Russian versions. You can buy both in Russia but cannot buy Russian beer or wine in USA.

Both have high levels of oil production compared to their reserves.

Both are better than France.

Our countries are similar in some things (both sure that their own country is the best of the world for example), but a great difference is:
Americans understand Russians much worse than Russians understand Americans because:
1.Most of American questions about Russia I've heard here are strange or ridiculous and based on stereotypes and myths (which are still alive utnill this time)
2.Russian youth and people which are bit older are grown on Hollywood movies and therefore they're able watch the American life ''inside of America''.

1.-cars all the cars are made in USA, only some european cars made in Germany are moving around.
2.-beer and wine, are one of the best around the world - i dont think russian beer and wine can comparate with our production.
3.-France is our camarada we have each other reciprocal visa for free stay. Russia does not have visa any where!!!
