How can you tell a russian by his looks?

I want to know if there is any way you can recognise a russian or a german by looking at them like you can with chinese and indian and spanish people
Additional Details
that last answer from rozmin who describes russian looks kinda describes me, I have pale skin (not clear coz i have a skin problem), I used to have light hair blonde, my face is not long but not round, I have a straight nose that is upturned a little at the end, but i m not russian, at least i dont think so unless i've been living a lie all these years lol. i dress russian too long coat and fur hat ya know cossak hats, so just make people think im russian. are rusians short too? i am

You cannot recognize german or russian by their looks. Except you are looking for stereotypical/anecdotal evidence - "Germans are blonds with blue eyes" "Russians are blond with wide cheekbones and snub noses"

But these are indeed more of anecdotal images.

I can tell a Russian a mile away. Deep seated eyes-usually I can tell a Russian even only by this. Clothes, physique, and body movements. I don't know how to explain to you but that's how I do it.

Rozmin
Russians I know are great at spotting other Russians. I think it has less to do with physical traits, and more to do with recognizing things like dress and behavior. Likewise, I can spot Americans and Canadians easily (I know you all probably think "Anyone can spot Americans," but sometimes it's less obvious than you think.) People are just usually good at recognizing others from their country.

As far as physical traits, there are some that are typically associated with Russians and Germans, although not all people from these countries will look that way.

For Russians, many that I have met have pale (very nice and clear) skin, usually lighter colored hair, well defined cheekbones, a face that is not long but is not round, almond shaped eyes and a straight nose that is very slightly up-turned at the end.

For Germans, the most common idea is that they are very tall. When I've gone to Germany, I've noticed that most Germans are bigger than other Europeans, like French. Despite an idea that they're all blond with blue eyes, most I've seen have brown hair and brown eyes.

By the way, I'm willing to bet that you would not be able to identify a Spanish person as Spanish. French, many Spanish and many Italians, and in fact many Europeans in general have similar characteristics physically. I also think that you wouldn't be able to identify many Indians or Chinese correctly. Both those countries are large and have more than one ethnic group, so sometimes people look very different than what you would think.

That is really easy.

First of all you can tell by the good looks and smiley, happy intelligent face.
Secondly by the bear - like strong and muscular posture.

Thirdly by the beautiful smell of vodka, machorka and their hormonally sexual strength.

But to know one, you must be one.

Like the French Degustateur who knows his wine.

i'd say russians are standing out more with their way to dress, talk,
overall way to conduct them-self then with their physical appearance.
But it is too long and complicated to explain.
Physically their mostly have European look and it is not easy to see
a lot of difference between german or polish, for instance, and russian.
And - no, russians are not really short, but i'd say overally little shorter then americans

If the person has typical looks, it's very easy. The facial features are very different.

yes I can but it's mainly cuz I'm married to Russian man and used to being around them so can tell. I can by their eyes and way they dress. I don't know Russian language but I can hear one word of Russian from a passer by and immediately know they're speaking Russian language even though I don't know it. I know it by the sound like music. I don't know the language by knowing it for real like speaking it and talking it though.

You can really recognize Russian women cuz they are usually dressed in skirts, high heals, their eyes, the way they carry themselves. I have been able to tell a Russian person before they've spoken but I really can't pin point what and how exactly.

I don't know anything about Germans. I doubt I'd be able to recognize a German just by looks.

A Russian can generally tell as can someone who has lived there a really long time. But keep in mind it's not just "looks" as Russia is home to over 100 cultures/ethnic groups/langauges and two people can be Russian citizens and look very, very different.

Wyatt Earp - "i can also tell you how to pick out an american. interested?" lol

overall russians are not short

i can tell a russian from a mile away... they are very baltic/nordic looking. blonde brown hair, usually light eyes. some of them look very tan but not like middle eastern tan, some of them are white. you will notice a russian when you see one.

and germans... germans look alot like englishmen.

language is not a good gauge, since bulgarians and other former eastern europeans still speak russian in their sleep.

but yes, you can definitely tell a russian by looks:

if he looks like boris yeltsin, he's russssian

if he grins and displays questionable dentistry, he's russssian

if he's holding a bottle of clear liquid without a label, he's sooooo russssian !!!

and i can also tell you how to pick out an american. interested?
