The old Turkish Lira has a bunch of Zeros behind the denomination. Some people still try and gip you buy sliding in an old turkish lira which are worth dirt. Be careful!

ZORBeY^
Old ones has "Türk Lirası" and new ones has "Yeni Türk Lirası" written on it.
Old ones usually have more than 5 zeros.
Here is the link that all of the currently used notes listed

If your lira has about a bazillion zeros on it, then it is old lira. The new lira made Turkish money easier to handle.

1 lira was 1 000 000
10 lira was 10 000 000 do you understand? they removed 6 zeros from the money and also "kuruÅŸ" came out again...
for example now, 60 000 000 000 TL is now 60 000 YTL...
TL: Turkish Lira
YTL: Yeni (New) Turkish Lira
