How come you are alive and there are so many of you if you suffered Genocide?

I think the point that you are trying to make is with regards to Armenia's claim of the numbers of their dead. One public claim related to the "genocide" claims a number so high that it almost equalled the population at the time. In other words, the claim basically stated that Armenia was wiped out. and, as we know, that is not true.

It is difficult to get to the truth as each passing year goes by. The British (a disinterested third party) attempted to prosecute former members of the Ottoman empire for the "genocide" but at the time found no compelling evidence and was forced to let the former Ottomans go.

That occurred only a matter of years after the killings. Now that it is 100 years later, and the Ottoman empire no longer exists, how is it possible to claim to any real degree of accuracy that a "genocide" occurred? I'd like to know what happened. I'm not convinced it was genocide.

Too many records and documents have been falsified and forged that it is impossible to tell what happened now. We do know that hundreds of thousands were brutally murdered. We do know that Turks were killed too. We do know that Armenia was a member of the former Ottoman empire and was plotting with the Russians to split from the empire - which equated to treason, and was punishable by death at the time.

Beyond that, it's tough to tell. There weren't any reporters, CNN, or cell phones with cameras to record the atrocities. Stories passed down amongst the survivors. Traumatized survivors had experienced horrors we can't imagine. I say let it go. Recognize that the dead suffered and remember them. If it cannot be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that it was genocide, then it was not.

My best friend is Armenian. She is not full of hatred, but then she has learned to let the past go.

All we hear about now is The Armenian genocide. However, I have read that the Armenians massacred Muslims in the end of the 19'th century. Why don't we ever see anything about that in the news or papers?

I feel bad for you el chris,so full of hatred I know they wash your brains in Armenia from the age of 2 against us Turks.. we are Ataturk's nation now and all we want is "peace at home, peace on earth" so you lot should forget the past and move on with your lifes as this life is only given us once and it doesn't last a very long time...

I think if there was a genocide The armenians would not live in Turkey now at least not so many of them, I have had armenian friends and they are lovely also they always say its all made up, what more can I say....
