when u get baptized, they find a Saint w/ the same name as urs for u to prey to, if they don't find ur name in the book of Saints, they find a Saint which is the closest to u by ur B-Day. like my name wasn't in the book, so by my b-day and the b-day of the Saints they found Maria Egyptian, which was the closest, she's chosen as my Saint for me to pray to and also Maria is chosen as my Orthodox name, but by all means, that does not make that my actual name, only a "church" name. |
