How is Turkey for travel?

I think it's a beautiful country specially in its west side and at Istanbul area. But it's not very safe (watch T.V.) Often there are some blasting bombs (I'm afraid of that) and when I have been there (some years ago) someone's stolen my stuff. Water also is low quallity. Be carefull of food and don;t eat from the road small shops.
I like Istanbul but it's crowded, a bit polluted and its roads are very dirty. But it has great places to be as Agia Sofia, Bosphorus area, Spice Market etc
Look this country is in East (Middle East and has that type of philosophy and image. If you like it it's ok ,if you don't like it don't go)
I don't recomment you to go to east Turkey (specially if you are a woman alone) except if you are working for National Geografic!
If you are a man and visit Turkey don't miss belly dance. You love it!

Yes, a beautiful country. If you can, visit their embassy in New York and talk to them, they are very helpful. Good food.

Turkey is cheap and very comfortable . Be careful with travel agencies:) there was a big scandal with russian agency. But if you are not in russia, i think you shouldn't be worry ,still, be careful:0

great place to visit.Terrorist took out a church 1 year ago, nothing since. Are we really safe? in our travels. we as u.s citizens feel to safe. so we go in Gods hands and in them if you are saved will understand. Godspeed to you and God bless you and your travels.

Turkey is one of the countries that I would love to visit. It's full of Greek, Roman, Byzantine ruins. I'd love to visit the Hagia Sophia the old Orthodox Cathedral that was converted into a Mosque. http://rus1917.new21.net/images/HAGIA_SOPHIA.jpg
Also Turkey has beautiful islands off it's coast. You can see much of the things people go to Greece to see at a much lower price. See the Swirling Dervishes.

turkey is the most beautiful country of middle-east, metro-pols and tourism centers are generally safe (at least safer than Egypt), the nature and history is very rich in turkey I recommend you to travel our country,
