Switzerland is sooooo beautiful. I went to a COSMOS (tour) trip once all around Switzerland starting with Zurich, and went on to parts of Italy, France and Germany. At one time you'd be shopping in the cities. Then the next moment, skiing at the Alps! Then, boating! Very very romantic and a new experience! Also, COSMOS takes away the problem with language, everything is in English! They priovide you hotels, dining, etc mostly, though you have to buy lunch yourself, but they take you to trustworthy and best places!
If you want to go anywhere else(many many choices around the world, there's even go around a continent like Europe type of tour) travel packages!
Cruises are also very romantic, people have weddings there quite often. Gourmet Cuisine 24/7, formal pictures/dinners, shopping, movie theaters, swimming pools, sports areas, rock climbing walls, watch Broadway type plays, bids, casinos, watching the sunset, excurisions at shore of various destinations(Bahamas, Mexico, Canada, Europe, etc). Go to Carnival Cruises for good deals or Royal Caribbean, about the same prices but RC has more choices!
Have fun! |

Yes. I know that spending a honeymoon in Europe sounds wonderful and fantastic. And I don't want to discourage you. But Just be prepared for the fact that everything is going to be so different! Trying to get food at a restaurant is an ordeal. You never know how much anything is going to be and with the conversion (I went two months ago...and the dollar/euro conversion rate was not good). I got fined becuase I couldn't figure out the train payment (I bought a ticket but didn't validate it). Oh my god if you wanna go see the sights you are walking forever..then you wait in lines for hours. Your worn out with tired aching feet and your starving and just begging for some mexican food. You and your wife will assureldy get into at least one fight from all of this frusteration. I had a dream that I ran up to people on the sidewalks screaming "oh my god you speak english..thank god!!". I'm being very honest here. The experience is completly priceless but at times you'll just want to give up.
If you go make SURE you get a travel agent, or sign up for a tour because you can't begin to imagine how hard it is to plan everything out.
Oh and the best advice I got was..don't bring traveler's checks just use atm machines. The conversion rate is by law the best possible and they don't take out a percentage (you get feed the dollar you would using an atm that wasn't your bank across the street). |

If you are on a budget I would stick to the cheeper parts of Europe like Hungary and Czech although I have travel most of Europe pretty cheep just staying in cheep hotels that for the most part have been pretty nice. I think you could have a very romantic, fun holiday in Costa del Sol, Spain for cheep. You can also see a lot down there. The trick is to get accomadations at the train station. People will come up to you and offer different types of places for pretty good prices. Also if you can get a small place with a kitchen you are set because eating out is the worst in Continental Europe for price. For 15 days I would say you should pick 2 or 3 places that are no more then 5 hours by train and just go for it. It isn't that expensive if you do like I said. |

I've traveled in europe a lot, and really recommend the best way to relax and not worry is to use the trains. trying to navigate the roads and foreign signs is very stressful. Learn from my mistakes! Also, my friend found some really good honeymoon deals at a travel site that let's you bid on trips, and it has a special honeymoon section. good luck! PS: consider Lagos, Portugal! It's a personal hidden gem! |
