How is marmaris like?

Hi,

First of all if you are looking a place small, quite Marmaris is not right place. But, if you are looking a big (middle size) holiday place, a bit crowded with tourists, nightlife and nature Marmaris is the great place.

Let me explain about your questions, actually in April season never starts. So city can be a bit quite.And weather won't be sunny to much. But this April will be more hot then other seasons because of global climate. But don't forget to bring something to wear at nights. Nights can be a bit cold. Normally 20 - 21 °C in day at April.

Prices in Marmaris a bit high then other small holiday places. But Marmaris is a big holiday city so you can find lots of different prices. I live in different city but i can say Marmaris is cheaper then where i live. If you prefer small restaurants you can eat with cheap prices.

Marmaris has a good night life for everyone. There are two main area where located night club and bars. At Marina way there is Bar Street (Barlar Sokağı). You can find lots of good bars and clubs. There are many Turkish style and Europen style bars in there. I suggest you to visit "Back Street" very nice place. Also another area "Uzunyalı". There are lots of bars in Uzunyalı beachfront. But this bars are mainly for British people. Music, menus etc.. My advise is visit Bar X, Cheers, Beach Club at Uzunyalı.

No where is secure in the world. There are always stupid people or organizations (killers) who wants to injure innocent people. They call their fight "freedom fight" but they don't know they are losers. So our country lives with terrorism in many years. And i can't say that % 100 secure and i can't say for any place. Next week i will be in London, who know may be i will die? Marmaris lived some terrorist attacks at past but there is no mean non secure place. But you will see many police and civil polices around, they just try to keep secure around. Also Marmaris is not like big cities, no many crime etc at streets.

About scuba you can find lots of alternatives in Marmaris. You will see many boats who wants to sell this services. Prices are not so bad.

I think there is no place you can play golf in Marmaris. I don't have any idea about that, sorry.

When you go there don't forget to visit İçmeler and Turunç. These are small places near Marmaris. You can enjoy sea, nature in there, and very close to Marmaris.

Also like her say, you can visit Rodos. It takes 50 minutes around i think. I lived in Marmaris 5 years (and i go every 4 weeks) but i didn't go. Everybody says that Rodos is a lovely island.

You will like Marmaris if you are looking fun, nature and people from another countries (mainliy from Britain). Marmaris is great place to spend time.

But don't forget, season mainly stars in May, not April. So some places can be closed when you go there.

Dont listen to anypone ok?I go to Marmaris in winter, spring, autumn, summer.The weather is nice, sweet, and it is a lovely place.It is 1 hour from my island, and I go even for holidays..They speak and they went probably one time in their life.Ask me who goes 4 times per year. I went on february once, and people were with shirts...
The clima is mediterranean, in winter there is not so much life, but it is a safe place,calm, green, thats why they call it yesil marmaris, and I suggest you to go to icmeler and turunc, nad dont miss at your return to see also Rhodes.

Big mistake. I went in April a couple of years back - it was freezing and p'd down most of the time. Prices are the same as UK. Nightlife was closed as it was out of season. Security - are you having a laugh? Scuba diving - it's the med, not the Indian Ocean. Golf - no idea. Good luck.

Usually the weather in april is like late May in England.It does get cold at night sometimes but the days are usually sunny and warm.Maybe a little rain but unusual.Prices for drink is about the same as UK food cheaper especailly if you eat Turkish in smaller restaurants.Unfortunately a lot of tourist bars etc are not open or quiet,not know if any golf courses I live Bodrum which is bigger and we dont have any yet,scuba diving may not have started for season.By security do mean if it is safe place?I would say take the same common sense precautions as in any part of Europe.

marmaris is very cold on april..Best months are july and august for marmaris.There is no golf areas in Marmaris but Belek is the best for golf. and also youca do scuba diving both marmaris and belek..
Marmaris is very popular for tourists and it is safe..

Dont think prices . If you want chepper holliday you can stay to my house freely. keys are at the next naigbour. There are a lot of tuorists there and own people of Marmaris is likes them. Night life is good is between 4. to 10. maunts. Scubadiving you can hire equpmants and you can find diving teacher. For golf big hotels have placas to play. But ıt might be expencive.

Marmaris is not such a place that I can like because of all its crowd and expensiveness. Turkish people try to make more money from tourists:)
