I am protesting this ban. If the on smokers have a right not to smoke why wouldn't us have a right to smoke. I mean I was never sitting at a non smoking area and smoking so why is this ban for I really don get it ?

And besides, I find the regulations a bit complicated. Although its open air but if you have a wall at your back and a roof ( even a sun umbrella) you still cant smoke !!!

I dont think it gonna work so I continue on smoking :)))

Have a good day

smokers always bother non-smokers.
i think every country should have this law.
it's good.

in Turkey is doing well with
it, it is good thing and I hope
it helps.

im not turkish but scottish. the ban is a great idea, and im a smoker! the only problems you may get is the bars, if they previously allowed smoking on the premises. In my town (which is small) we have had 3 bars close as people dont go out so much to drink. i wish turkey all the best and hope it is successfull. But i will miss lighting up when i go in june !!!

Irmak
I don't like bannings but this one is so useful (maybe it's the only good job of the government for 7 years)..My father hasn't arrived yet, I'll ask him. My mum was at home all day so she smoked a lot as she does everyday...

PS: My mum is talking about this subject now. 'I should buy fake cigarette. What will I do at the school?' :D

I ve been in a couple of bars today and I dont think the non Turks know about it yet as there seemed to be a few foriegners puffing away without a any bother, the other thing is that no one asked them to stop either.

Totally Blunt
The protesters of the smoking ban should remember that they are paying addiction taxes to national and international nicotine lords.

The ban makes smokers consider quitting and that's a good thing.

Trotsky vs Kerensky- НекIо!
I love it. I am so glad that I will not have to inhale all that poison because of the smokers around me.

Stop smoking! I am boycotting smoking! The
Governments is acting like God so I have started my
own boycott and will not smoke again untill they
either change their attitude about second hand smoke
or I wimp out and bow down to their increasingly
hostile attempts to limit the places a smoker can
smoke!

Going on six months... really it aint all that bad!

Isn't the ban just for public buildings and cafe/restaurants? They did that here too and then they came up with the idea of banning it on the streets too...and that was a good thing as the cafes and restaurants allow it again, even those who banned it before the street ban....I never figured out how that happened, I guess the owners complained as no customers came anymore! It is a good thing though as I am saving tons of money not going in the city anymore!
To Cetin: Just boycott them all, homecooked meals are much healthier anyway and having friends over is so much more fun too and let's have a good smoke when I get to Istanbul! I am fed up with all these dictatorships lately!

i never smoke, i suggest people to quit smoking but i find the ban as unnecessary as if we got rid of the problem of our reactionist government party.

Aww I didn't know Turkey came up with a smokeing ban.. I remeber being there acouple of years ago and smoke at a cafe inside a shopping centre and I loved that I didn't have to walk for 15mins to find an exit so I can have a smoke outside like I have to in Australia errr annoying...

Smokers should be fined 10 000 EUROS each time they are disturbing someone .
And I'd love to be an anti-smoking agent observing everyone and giving fines to everyone in the café-restaurants and even in the street.
I would do this job with great pleasure.
