How many of you believe in saints?

Do you have any experience you can share. I would love to hear it.

I believe in Saints.

They were humans, but they chose the path of God , many of them sacrificed their life for Him.

I believe that now they try to save us through the power of God of course, because all the miracles that they make are from God.

I don't believe easily in a "new' saint (san ton Bisariona pou eixe ginei xamos prin 2 xronia) or in every miracle that people say.

In the Orthodox Church someone becoming Saint 100 years after his/her death. The Orthodox Churches make a Holy Synod and by checking the life of this human, miracles after and before his/her death, they decide if they will call him/her Saint.

The only exception was Saint Nectarios who died in 1920 and became saint in 1961, because of his many miracles.

I totally agree with Vaggos

well said my friend!

and as for experiences, its a matter of faith! the more you have, the closest you are to God and His Miracles

But there are miracles in every day life too, no need to be something extraordinary to mention it here.

Yes I do. And the best of them is Santa Claus. He brings me presents. That's proof enough of a miracle for me, ain't it?

I had a personal experience on a Greek island. Yes its true that miracles can happen if you have faith.

I don't have any "experience" with saints, but I love to read their biographies and learn about their lives. One of my favorites is St. Nikodemos of the Holy Mountain. The other is St. Gerasimos of Kefalonia.

I believe they were men and women very close to God

Pistevo! One time my hands were litterelly freezing and they hurt so bad so I put them under hot water and kept on hurting! So then I started praying in my head over and over and suddenly got beter. INSTANTLY after praying! So I guess that might be thanks to the "Big Guy."

Totally Blunt
I believe in saintly people, regardless of creed, race or sex. And in my belief, the only supernatural thing about them is their trueness to goodness despite the world we are living in.

greek_dude247
I believe in saints, but don't pray to the saints. I know that I'm Greek Orthodox and that we're supposed to pray to them but I don;t see he point. they're more of examples to me than people I'd pray to.
