All you need to worry about in Crete is in the morning whether you remember the night befores sex and if you can remember their name if you wake up beside them. |

Tonight I had dinner with a friend in a restaurant in Heraklion. It is a restaurant preferred by younger people, not fancy but really good.
We had a big salad, grilled mushrooms, 2 meat dishes and half litre of wine for 22,50 Euro. At the end they offered us raki (a local drink) and fruit (watermellon).
In general, I think 10-15 Euro per person is enough in most places in Crete. Keep in mind that fish is usually more expensive than meat. |

much cheaper than in britain! If you eat and drink the local dishes it will be cheaper still! Try the meatballs and if you eat nothing else you must have Stifado! The local wine is very drinkable and if you stick to Mythos you will not get much of a hangover and its always a few cents cheaper. A really nice steak with all the trimmings is about €10 which is around £7! Try gettin that in Blighty!
A cocktail or spirit will cost u about €5 or €6 but a vodka is a GLASS of vodka not a measure. £3.50 for a treble? I think not!
The people are lovely and the place is fantastic! |

Hello dear!
It depends on the place! If you are in a tourist area, more than areas for local people!
The prices in restaurants for local people is amazingly low, especially for the quality of food!
Then, regarding drinking. Well, if you like Cretan wine and moonshines, then the prices are comparatively very low and the quality (if you like such) great!
To enjoy a meal for two, eat everything possible and drink as much as you can, in a good restaurant (not only for tourists), more or less than 30! |

more than it does in America by far. Euros are considerably more valuable than dollars, so keep in mind that if you spend 3 euros on a coffee, its more like a coffee for 4.50. Depends were you are on Crete though. |

Find a good place away from the tourist areas. Drink Retsina (2 or 3 euros a half kilo).
If you are in Apokoronas go to Elpis in Plaka, Mythos in Georgiopolis or the taverna opposite the police station in Vamos. Il Forno (OK - Italian) in Kalives is good. |

In whole Greece in a good taverna the cost is about 10 euros per person. In Crete it will be a bit more because it's a touristic place/It may be about 15-18 euros per person.
An alternative meal could be greek junk food like souvlaki and pita wich will cost about 2 euros and it's enough to satisfy your hunger |

Depends where you go to eat and what you like to eat. I tried beach front restaurants in Stalis, little take-away stalls in Malia and a nice open cafe veranda in Heraklion. My most expensive dish was about 10 Euros which works out at about 7 pounds at the time.
Really vet the places before you eat though because there are some that looked really dirty and could have easily gotten food poisoning from. |
