Unfortunately, they don't treat animals well (generally).

Frankly, they're *******.

In my neighborhood there are over 30 stray cats.
We feed them every single day with a combo of left over food and cat food.

Maybe I should shoot a video of my self feeding them and upload it on Youtube as well?

I am aware of what these videos display. I do not need to see them.
There are laws that protect animal's rights in Greece.
But like any other law in any other country, you have to get caught first to be punished.

One should expect severe punishment if you are caught abusing an animal.
I rest my case...

Charles_N
no they ve got many pets especially dogs

you should go to china ,one day the dog is the familys best friend, the next day it main course... why dont u provoc some chinesse for a change or are u scared u might end up as an appitizer?

Vasilia
Well Greeks love pets and animals and people. We value life of all kinds.
We are a peaceful nation and the punishment for abuse to animals if caught is harsh. The laws are not enforced in Greece for pets, but if caught expect hell. Most laws aren't enforced here really, soo.

But these things don't just happen in Greece, it happens everywhere. I for one, will fight for better protection of animals in Greece and elsewhere.

cpinatsi
Most Greeks love pets, or at least don't harm them. Actually many people in every neighbourhood make it their own business to care for all the strays too.
Unfortunately, some individual perverts harm unprotected animals and tehy give the rest a bad name. And people like you take advantage of this in order to give Greeks a bad name. So yes, this question is another provocation against Greece.

"..Is it true or is another provocation against Greece?"

how many questions have you asked with this ending?

I'm greek and I absolutely LOVE my pets
but there are some exceptions unfortunately...

Ok your post is pointless. Strays are all over the BALKAN region, not only Greece. Plus if Greece wasn't trying to do something about it they wouldn't have numerious programes and organizations that helped protect and find homes for strays nor would there be Law 3710/03 that protects pets and strays.

i was in greece 3wks ago there were stray dogs evry were some were injured and any just rome the streets

The only animals that Greeks DON'T love is you and your other accounts

Zoi ((Ζωή))
You shouldn't generalise, such icons you can find in most countries of the world.
I've also been to England and I couldn't find easily an apartment that would welcome my doggy, not to mention that you can't take it anywhere and it has to be in 'carantina' for at least 6 months (!) to be able to travel with you to England (sorry people, don't want to offend you, we had a great time in UK but...).

As for me (Greek), we have an adorable pincher miniature and we treat her like a human.
She sleeps with us (and on our pillows), she eats only good quality food, often on the table, like the rest of the family etc etc.
We are pet lovers, as a family and also care for stray dogs.birds etc.
Unfortunately, Greeks are sickly clean, to be honest, and they are very strict with the rules concerning pets and animals.
But many people feed dogs and cats, in my neighbourhood we are countless and we are all Greeks!
So, your fotos tell pretty much of nothing and yes, this time, it is a provocation against Greece.
