Yes, Greece is a very safe country generally. Check out the Gov travel advice for up-to-date info though. Greece is much safer than many countries, take usual precautions- let someone know where you are, book accommodation in advance, only use licenced cabs, use a money belt and keep money hidden, don't carry too mcuh cash, keep valuables out of site, try look confident, don't look lost (even if you are!) etc and you should be fine! Enjoy! x |

I think you would be more in danger in London these days then traveling in Greece!
Men love and live to flirt but they would never hurt you!
they do not let others push around a woman!
I think you will be just fine! |

Greece is a very safe country i live here, just as long as you dont get caught up with any of the men... because here the men love female tourists... but it's just a matter of laughing it off:) generally it's a beautiful and safe country. |

It's not just Greek men you need to be careful of, just be aware of all men if they have been drinking. If you are going alone, you don't have to go to the bars and clubs, you can go to nice restaurants etc.. The Islands are very safe compared to the UK, you are much safer here than there, 90% of crime comitted is in the summer season by drunk tourists, but it's mostly harmless fun, I've never heard of anything serious happening.
I met my husbnad on a Greek holiday, they are not all lotharios!!
Have a good holiday, why not have a look on the internet for singles holidays, at least then you will be with a group of people in the same boat as you. |

very safe. greece has a low crime rate, especially towards females. remember ur not in america, and thats what u need all u need to worry about. In greece girls outnumber men, unlike USA, so a lot of the guys are surrounded by hot females a lot, i mean if ur worried about rape or sumin. It's a paradise and i ll leave it at that. i lived there my junior year of high school. |

Just as safe as traveling anywhere else! Never let the fact you want to travel alone stop you going anywhere (within reason, obviously!!), but bear all the usual safety tips in mind.
Have a good hol! |

The Greeks are very friendly, I think it's a safe country, I went to Kalamata a few years ago, I had no problems. |

How safe Greece will be while you will be traveling alone in Greece? This is the question!
Really, Greece is safer than any place I have been! |

you will as safe as if you were traveling in Italy, France, UK or everywhere in the Western Europe. With due respect though you will be safer in Greece than in the United States, for there are almost no gun-totting louts as they are in the States (courtessy of the Second Amendement) |

You will be fine, as long as you keep away from greek men who want to flirt with you. Some guys - not only greeks - think women only want sex. It would be wise not to go to clubs etc., alone, and not to go to secluded places alone. Saying this, I don't mean to scare you, it doesn't mean something will happen if you do go to secluded places alone (I always go to secluded beaches, for example), but in the world we live in (not just Greece) you can never be sure, unless you take precautions. If you stay in places with a lot of people, archaeological sites, beaches with people, restaurants, etc., and you stay in a good area (not Omonoia), you will be safe. |

Your main risk in Greece may well be other tourists. Many Greek men will offer you a bed for the night, but understand NO. If you agree to go for a walk in the woods of course you will get what you deserve. Traffic & driving can be a bit horrendous, don't even think about two wheels Money & valuables generally fairly safe, though there are a few pickpocket gangs from eastern europe around |

Of course it is safe..Men are not sexually hungry, the greek girls are very beautiful..Certainly there are exceptions, but it is everywhere the same, be sure.
Be careful just in Athens, because as in all the big cities there is deliquency. But if you travel to the islands you ll not have problem..
I wish you a pleasant holiday..and dont listen to what some people say.. |

Of the 26 countries that I have traveled to, I would have to say that GREECE is the safest. Even for someone traveling alone. Of course, you should take the same precautions that u would even at home. You will have a wonderful time, I guarantee it!!!! Kalo taxidi! (Bon Voyage) |

lol, as long as you keep away from the greek men promising you the world and that your the most beautiful thing on the planet just to get your money you should be fine |

You'll be fine dear. All the native men are into "Greek " love |

I think therefore I am 2210

What's wrong with some people in here? All Greek men want is your money? Come on now, be real. Greece is a perfectly safe place to go. But take precautions if you're not used to hot places, carry a bottle of water with you, sun screen etc. Other than that most people are friendly, although some businesses do tend to inflate their prices if they realize you're a tourist, but in general all you have to do is kick up a fuss and they'll "admit their mistake". |

Just as safe as anywhere else. as long as you act sensibly and not walk up to random people who look edgy or wonder around in overly exposing tops you'll be fine. But then again the same counts for any other country in the world. |

don't worry about that dear! Greece is a civilized, safe country. Don't get worried about all this warnings about greek men.. they are not all bad. You will find bad men in every country you visit, and good ones also of course. I am a foreign woman living in Greece, and I have never had a problem, on the contrary, I have only got respect from others. Good luck! |
