Sparklepop

How should you dress when it's 26°C? (80°F)?

This might sound like an odd question (sorry!), but I never know how to dress for the temperature!

I might be going to the Algarve in September, and I was told that it averages about 26°C. Is that what you would call hot 'sunbathing' weather? Or will I be needing to take loads of trousers and long-sleeved tops?!

Thanks to anyone who can help! ;-)

this would depend on where you are from in the World. i would be wearing shorts and t-shirt, it's like a british summer

During the day it will be comfortable sunbathing weather. As it is fairly low humidity, during the nighttime you could certainly get a chill, so you will want to bring some pants and light longsleeved shirts.

It also depends on what you are accustomed to, as to how warm it will feel for you. Where I live, it's 35° and 90% humidity, so 26° and low humidity would feel perfect. Whereas is you were from Finnland, 26° would feel pretty hot, regardless of humidity.

That's definately shorts and vest weather - take some trousers and long sleeve tops in case it gets chilly in the evening!

Light cotten clothes. Floaty things like a skirt, and vest is nice, shorts and vest! x x

It´s "sunbathing" weather by the day and maybe you will need a light sweater by the night.Don´t worry, it´s a wonderful weather in South of Portugal in September.

Skidoo
I'd take cover ups and a big hat for the hottest part of the day and shorts and tees for the cooler parts. Check whether it gets cold at night too.

myke0282
shorts and vest weather

Definitely shorts and T-shirts. Maybe some thin trousers for the evenings.

I would wear mostly short or capri's and tanks or a tee. However, I'd probably take a couple of warmer outfits. You never know when the weather will turn out to be like.

That's hot. Shorts and tops, comfy skirts, very light pants for evening.

Anything above 20 is decent enought for shorts. 26 is getting hot hot hot! Remember your sun cream!

It does depends where you are. I would suggest short sleeves, skirt or shorts but take cardigan with you. This temperature is quite warm.

reflection
just sunn bathe in the early morning or evening and cover up rest of the time and drink lots but not to much alcohol as this dehydrates you OH AND HAVE A GREAT HOLIDAY

Chelsea
When it's in the 80's I wear either shorts or pants or midlength skirts. Definetly shouldn't wear long sleeved tops. Tanks or tshirts are what I recommend.

Moondog
Sunbathing.

Just wear what you want but do try to take clothes that are made of cotton or thin cool material and maybe trousers made of linen and dresses just enjoy your holiday.Hope this helps

I'd do t-shirts. If you're succeptable to the cold, though, do take a long-sleeve top or two or light jersey.
It all depends on what you are used to - here, if it goes down to that temp, people haul out winter clothes, while I am still sweltering - it's all about what your reaction is to it

wear your bikini and not much else.

shorts, tank tops, summer dresses, plenty of flip flops. tee shirts, capris. all light material, nothing too hot and heavy

♥shadow♥box♥
depends on the humidity. 26°C with a high humidity will feel much warmer than a 26°C with low humidity. wear a light shirt and pants.

♥Mamushka♥

Its hot so wear a thin shirt and some shorts or capris

Glitter Berry
definitely pack shorts and tanks, but also pack lighter long sleeve shirts and jeans or something, if you plan on being in doors near AC o.O
