How to get over the fear of flights?

I know I know not

Why fear???
Travelling with plane is so beautiful,the view is astonishing (even if there are clouds underneath!)and the chance of something to happen is 1 in a ...billion,I don't know!!
Think of it this way...Out on the streets,even when you are walking,you could be theft,hit by a falling flowerpot,run over by a car etc...Does that mean you ll never get out of home???(oh,and if you stay in,you could slip in the bath and brake your neck,.........etc!!!)
So,just live your life(in general,not only when it comes to planes)and don't think bad.

just think about how many plane crashes there are and then think about how many car accidents there are. You're much safer in a plane than in a car driving down the street.

hm...marge simpson had this same problem...homer just made her watch movies with plane crashes...i dont recall if it worked though...but i know she went on the plane

Fear is a reaction of the brain to an external stimulous or thought,usually after a traumatic experience,or when there is little information from the environment.

its purpose is to protect you from dangerous situations.

If the brain has little information input,and little or no knowledge about,increases the levels of anxiety & fear.

You have to understand why you fear,then what you fear,and also understand is a natural reaction.

the more knowledge you can get the less you fear.

imagine going in a dark room for the first time,and being in a lighted room that the light goes off.

most likely you will feel fear enetring the unknown room which is also dark.

on the lighted room you have more information(mostly visual)

the best way to overcome ur fears is to face them.

in this case fly.
learn about the airplanes,how they fly,see the particular flight you want to take,see the map that it flies over,see what aircrafts the airline you fly has,get accustomed to the idea

I always have a drink at the airport and take a sleeping pill. The drink calms me down and I sleep as soon as I get on the plane. The only problem I have with flying is the night before that's when I get the jitters. That's why I usually book my flights to depart at night or real early in the morning.

ask your Dr. to prescribe an anti anxiety drug to take before you get on the plane

Don't take prescription drugs, but if you drink just drink a few. Just keep flying you'll get use to it, it's like riding a bike. More people die in cars than air crafts.

Don't sit next to the window, think about the great place your going to & what your going to do there, then have a few drinks (but be sure to sit close to a bathroom:)

You never get over it. So just DO IT! Just do not eat a big bowl of Bran Flakes before your first flight. Can get a bit messy up there!

statisticlly you are more likely to get killed by a donkey than in a plane crash another way is to try to figure where you are by looking at the landscape than thinking that your flying i did that and it works beutifully
