Kassiopi my friend, has uniqe surroundings and very beautiful beaches close by. A bicycle if not a car, is a must to get to them. Kalami and Kouloura one next to the other.
Kerasia and Agios Stefanos and the best of all Avlaki, are situated towards the South of kassiopi. While Apraos, Agios Spiridon, Almyros, Acharavi are within short driving distance to the North. And then of course is the rest of the island.
The tips given by the answers prior to mine should be taken into consideration but they should not be the reason to change your mind. There is more positive than negative to the whole. I'm afraid the fireflies is one thing you will not see because normally they come out late spring early summer.
Should you need more information e-mail me. |

I went a few years ago - its lovely. My only tip is to look a bit further for a nice beach as there is a lovely one just outside town. The beach in town is more 'sunbeds on rocks' than beach! Also look out for the massive black Newfoundland dog that belongs to the people in the Scuba shop - he is gorgeous!
Also take a boat trip to Corfu Town in the evening, it was the best bit of my holiday and Corfu Town is magical!
Have a lovely time! |

You will love it, its very beautiful. They eeven have coach trips to Kassiopi from other parts of Corfu because of its pretty Greek-ness.
The waterfront bars all light up at night along the edge of the sea, and you can sit in one and look all around. There are lots of nice restaurants, and its a great place.
I think you will be very happy there. Hire a car and visit another place, Paleokastritsa. Thats lovely too. You will see the whole island, if you have a car for about three days I would say.
I also like the beach front at Acharavi about half an hours drive from Kassiopi.
Go on a boat trip into the caves, and see where all Corfus gods and Goddeses storys came from. |

Hire a jeep and go down some of the gorges...hairy and exhilarating stuff.
Seriously do hire transport of some kind the only way to see that region....just beautiful. Do have a lovely time. And mind you use the barrier creme and watch out for some of the locals on the coast who try and charge you the earth shop around.
And watch out for the sea urchins if you go swimming buy some of those rubber beach shoes. Honestly my hubby stood on one and it almost landed him in hospital... he was in such pain for days.
Look out for the fireflys when it's dark they are just like fairies. Once you have seen them you can understand why people believe in fairies. We tried to capture them on camera..if you have a digital set it to the right exposure and I'm sure you will succeed where we failed to get photos. |

I've been going to Kassiopi every year (bar one) for the past 18 years. It's a beautiful place. My tip would be not to miss out on the music quiz at Angelos Bar in the main square. Nick, who runs the bar, is a really nice guy who I've known for years. If you say ChrisC007 recommended Angelos he may even get you a free Mythos ;-) |

I've just got back from St Georges, Corfu and if I've got one tip, it's to take mosquito repellant! I've never really been bitten on holiday before but the little bleeders bit me to bits in Corfu! Have a good holiday. |
