I've been to Portugal three times, to the Algarve, to Sintra and to Obidos.

I love Portugal. I have many Portuguese friends in Carcavelos, and visit often. I love the Atlantic coast. I'm just not so sure about your police force, that's all. Also anyone who drives a car in Lisbon and surrounding area is crazy and must have a death wish, LOL

I will also say about the Portuguese people, you are very nice. Very friendly. The Spanish can learn a lot from you, how to be nice and how to be pleasant.

And many people don't know how closely the UK and Portugal are linked historically, through the trade in Port wine.

Kisses

I have Portuguese customers.
Most of them are hard working honest people.

Well I visited Lisbon a year ago and thought it was lovely. The people were very welcoming and the shopping was great. I would actually prefer to holiday there than Spain. I think it has had some bad press recently but people shouldn't let that kind of thing put them off.

hi i have spend many holiday's in Portugal and i love the place!! and the people!! the food the culture everything a great place love to go back!!

My wife is Portuguese. I am French. I find that relatives and friends (who are portuguese) are hard working ambitious and family related people -- strongly religious. However they are very stubborn. (Whether that is good or bad is a matter of taste.)

i have no particular strong opinion about Portugal or Portuguese people; i don't think most Americans do. i knew more Portuguese in Hawaii than anywhere else in the U.S. there was a stereotype in Hawaii that Portuguese drink (alcohol) a lot, even they said it about themselves.

i think of Portugal like a pretty country, maybe a better country to visit than Spain for value and nice places to visit. i like the Portuguese language and think it's very nice sounding. and the most other thing i know about Portugal is the miracle of the small children who saw the Virgin Mary.

we're the best! I went to Portugal in March to see some family and visit lisbon. Beautiful. The rest of my family, except for me, was born in Portugal.

We're not that good in soccer though... :-( That forth place in the world cup was kinda lucky...

You look Spanish and sound Russia. Looking forward to my holiday next summer to Lisbon. Seen it on TV and can't wait. My husband works with Portuguese people and said they're almost all lazy. Sorry-but you did ask.

Have holidayed in Villamoura, and found both the place, and the people wonderful....we had a lovely holiday. I realise that in the last few months , Portugal has recieved lots of bad press....but this seems to be focused on the awful, almost ( sadly ) comical police force!! From newspaper reports,it makes it sound as though most of the police force are amateurs, dragged from a sleepy, cosy existence into doing something wothwhile and challenging for a change!! Its sad....Portugal is wonderful!!

A Portuguese woman who's child went missing, was beaten by the police when she could take no more punches she confessed.
That would not happen in the UK. The woman's husband gave the photograph of his beaten up wife to the UK newspapers. We all saw the state of her face, and her black eyes, anyone will confess to anything if you beat them long enough. Now she is in jail for 16 years, her husband says she is innocent. The one who beat her up is no longer in the force. Well you did ask.

I moved to Spain from England 5 years ago and Portugal is certainly on my list of places to visit. Sadly, Portugal has been in the news for all the wrong reasons lately but I believe it to be a very beautiful place with many honest, hard-working people. I only hope that recent events will not mar what has certainly been a very welcoming country for British people over many years.

I've always heard they're kinda closed and proud. Like they only like to hang around other Portuguese people.

But that's just what I heard. To be honest, I haven't met many Portuguese people.

Well there are some very good Portuguese folk that I know. However, being Brazilian some Portuguese people have this sort of arrogance about them. They think they are better than us because they found us or that our language is based on theirs. That sort of gets to me because that was a while ago and by bragging does that make you any better than us. Just a thought. No offense.

:]
In my opinion I think Portugal is boring! And, the people think they are better than everyone. I'm Portuguese too and this is was I think of them. Thank God I'm not 100%
