Would it be more justified for our folk to vote for a politician (Papandreou) that is a "yes-man" to the USA and he is proved to be mediocre? Who supports him to be the leader?
I am a person without a political ID and I have problem getting some reasonable cases of mine done! There is everywhere some "kid" of PASOK that must be "settled" and there is not space for me. If I want to go to another school with "apospasi" I must know somebody from PASOK to help me do it.
If you don't experience it, you can't be aware of how it is, believe me! I am outrageous with them!
I am sure that many people share my feelings, that explains the vote results.
By the way, I didn't vote to this elections, due to distance reasons (I just couldn't spend 70 Euros for voting for them, I prefer buying one more pair of glasses from eBay!).
(additional part)
Do you really think it is reasonable quarreling here for their (all of them) sheik? It doesn't make you any sense at all that both big parties (Pasok open and ND in the foreign media) tried to take advantage of the fires?
We can talk endlessly about fires and who caused them and for what reason, bla, bla...
Hope for a change is the answer to you, girl24, and the election results shown that we don't deserve to be biased and narrow minded, with 5 parties very different with each other in our parliament... |

Listen, girl..
You have to watch your manners and behaviour, and use less offensive words when addressing yourself to people you don't know but happen to disagree with you.
You don't know Leonarda's backround, nor mine, and as a matter of fact I don't see any reason why we should inform you as we'll never be having coffee together.
But just to give you a measure of comparison between your interest for forest fires and mine and my familie's, I can certainly make referrence to 2.500 articles in news papers and some hundrends of presentations in the T.V., from the time you were going to elementary school, just to show you who is only talking and attacking others and who has spent a lifetime for this issue.
Some respect would not harm you. |

I only want to stress out that questions and answers like these give arguments to those who fight our county.
Do not complain if some foreign questioners will use the stuff above. |

The Prefecture of Ilia is typical''green''.
Concerning the fires, the government and no other government if you want it like that couldnt do anything in such a short time..
You forget the fires of 1998?It was not the same government..What had been done?Nothing..
It was an organised plan, and let s admit it.And if we want to blame someone, we have to blame every political party. It is nice to say the government, or whatever else..The others? The church which has the biggest property what they did? What they offer to the children who die everyday from diseases?
Let s see the future, and not to hurry so much to juge...
Ok...attack all together the greek users..for the political parties. Then dont complain about the comments we receive.Patriotism is also to work as a whole team, not to attack each other... |

The main problem here is (and in this way I also answer your other question,as to not repeat myself) that the citizens of Greece don't vote with logic. They haven't learned to think political, don't forget that most young people who have the right to vote this elections don't have a clue how it all works, they don't know how the procedure takes place,so they end up in a eklogiko tmima(sorry don't know the English word),in a booth with I don't know how many different choices....and no one has prepared them for it...so it's only natural that they'll vote between the two or three parties they've heard about and names of people they heard on TV.Also don't forget that many receive pressure by their families to vote the same as they do...
If we won't change how can we expect the political parties to change.I really hoped that no one would go vote this elections, just to give the message to those "gentlemen" that we won't believe or take their lies anymore...but unfortunately nothing has changed...Even those affected by bad politics voted the same... |

WOW................ you say you need an explanation but you can't stand the answers u get. If you are going to disagree with everyone why bother to ask? Don't brag about your degrees...almost everyone here has one, so we're not impressed either. Have a nice day. |

I think you're being unfair to Leonarda. History repeats itself. Read these:

Still they voted for the same people.

What happened to the acres burnt in Penteli in 1998?
I still haven't concluded whose fault it is; once the fire broke out, there was nothing that could be done-the thing is what had or hadn't been done to prevent the situation beforehand. What I'm sure of is that nature is taking and will be taking revenge on us.
And one more thing that just caught my attention, regarding your comment to zoi. You may be too young to have a clear understanding of things and how politics work, or perhaps you are not objective enough in your judgement. I won't try to convince you of the opposite (you were too young to remember anyway) but I can tell you that I work in a sector where I have seen various examples of the power Pasok still has on certain sectors of the public life. You are too young to remember major scandals and examples of corruption. Do some online research and you'll be surprised (will you?) by what you'll find.
Don't be too judgmental or too absolute. |

do you think that karamanlis was the one who started the fires?
or do you think that georgakis would have done a better job?

The Heilias prefecture was won by PASOK by 46,52%. It was “Green” as you said and it still remained “Green”.
The interesting thing is to realize that in the Heilias prefecture the 30% of the voters did not bother to vote!
The same has happened in the country!
The Greek voters are 9.919.935 (9 millions)
Voters that chose NOT to vote were 2.565.090 (2 millions and half )
THAT MEANS THAT THE 25,85% OF THE VOTERS CHOSE NOT TO VOTE!!!
And the real results are
NewDemocrasy: 30,19% ( 2.994.983 voters)
PASOK party : 27,49% ( 2.727.298 voters)
Absent voters: 25,85% ( 2.565.090 voters)
KKE : 5,85% ( 583.654 voters)
SYN : 3,64% ( 361.108 voters)
LAOS: 2,73% ( 271.701 voters)
Others : 4,25%
The same applies in the previous elections! As a result the parties that do govern us haven’t got an actual majority of the population! Instead a minority of only 30% chose the politics!
That why we see answers about “Galazia paidia” and “Green paidia”! This is probably the worst that those parties have done to us!!!
(please try not to use personal characterizations! Insults are very easy to happen!!!!) |
