I am planning my first trip to Europe from the states, where should I go?

Depends on what your interests are- Europe is so huge and diverse. Castles? Roman ruins? Nature? Mediaeval towns? Partying? Art? I have spent over two years traveling in europe- last week I got back from six months backpacking and being a street musician for the summer. So here are a few of my faves:
1.Slovenia- Ljubljana, Lake Bled- Slovenia is my favorite country
2.Czech Republic- Prague, Kutna Hora, and Ceske Krumlov
3. Belgium- Brugge
4-Italy- Taormina, Stromboli, Cinque Terra, Capri, Amalfi coast, Pompeii
5.- Berlin and Heidelberg, germany
6. Orkney Islands and Edinburg, Scotland
7. Mostar, Bosnia
8. Croatia- Dalmation coast, Hvar island, Plitvice, Dubrovnik
9. Sarlat la Caneda and the Dordogne region, France
10. Amsterdam and Leiden, Holland
11. Granada, Spain
12. Budapest
13. Santorini, Greece
14. Cappadocia, Antalya, and ruins of Termessos, Turkey
15. Oh, yeah, I forgot Malta- great spot as well!

Some of my best times were renting a scooter and driving to small villages and other out of the way places. Need any advice, email me!

there is a quality-target travelling list for you. your friends at state will be jeallous forever for you after that trip.

if you go to some smaller unknown towns, you just have to convince them that they were even a bit like these main targets

While in Paris try to spend a least one day out in the countryside. A must see in France is Vaux le Vicomte, the prototype for Versailles and the best preserved and finest chateau and garden of them all.
