Yes you are fine to take food with you anywhere within the EU. |

Of course you can (if you can find a way of keeping them from going off) - but why bother? Greece some great dairy products - milk, cheese, yogurts, sour milk, butters, from cows, sheep or goats. They range from traditional style products (some of the greatest white cheeses for instance, from spicy to salt-free, or fat-free, for instance) to qourmet products that you would pay a fortune for in your country. Take the opportunity to buy them fresh & cheap locally and enjoy! What's the point of going on holiday to another place and not experimenting a little with your taste buds? Its part of the experience of a different culture! Greece has great food - very healthy, using a lot of fresh vegetables and cooked with locally produced, fine olive oil. The local dairy products compliment these mediterranean dishes. Of old, Greek were not eating much meat (hence they did not have many heart diseases until the modern time fast food...); the country's cuisine is full of great vegetarian recipes. Also the local lamb is superb and you can try the seafood also, if not a vegetarian. Try something else than boring chicken & chips! |

You can, if you are coming from another EU country, but you can just as well buy them when you arrive. |

Why would you want to to begin with? Greek shops sell milk, butter and cheese? For a start, how are you going to keep them fresh? Buy local and enjoy supporting the country you are visiting |

As far as I'm aware, it's fine to take dairy products inside the EU. You can't take them outside though, as I found out when I came back from Bulgaria. |

Why to take diary products with you? Greece has among the most excellent, safe and tasty diary products!
First cheese and yogurt were made in Greece and the art still goes on in homes, small companies and large international firms, utilizing the best milk!
Enjoy and trust! |

Why on earth would you want to take them with you. Greece has much better dairy products then England and I know, I live here! The eggs are fresh daily from free range chicks, the cheese is wonderful, anything from feta, fresh (non salty) soft feta, kefalotyri (yellow cheese), graviera (excellent especially from Crete or Naxos) and a multitude of other cheeses, milk is fresh and tasty (available in all kinds of level of fat), the famous Greek yoghurt - non better anywhere. On the whole Greece has very fresh food, whether its vegetables, fish, meat or dairy prods. Try them all - you will see how right I am. Go for the restaurants where the locals eat and not touristy places.
Actually you may have trouble bringing food in due to AVIAN FLU.
Anyway come on over and have a great time, swimming, sight seeing, clubbing and good eating!!!!
KALO TAXIDI (good journey)!! |
