I dont speak polish but would like to buy a new mother a book in polish for a present about the first years?

I don't know where exactly do you live but you can search for books with words "dziecko" (child), "niemowlak" (baby child)... Meratak already gave you a link to good Polish book, but as far I read there you can buy it only if you are in PL.

I dug ebay and found only Fairy Tales in Polish:

I checked also amazon , but there isnt anything interesting.

On this Polish site is a guidebook
for "future and present mothers" (probably only available in Pl)

Any bookstore should be able to assist you. Barnes & Noble is a great store to check out. Plus they have an information center so you wont have to go to the check out lines and wait.

There is a site called pol.com. It is in Polish so I can't understand a word but you could try emailing them for help.

they have an amazing variety of books, CD's and everything. you could also find Polish coloring books - something that will come in handy for the baby once they are a bit older.
