Talk to your counselor and maybe the counselor can explain to your father what a GREAT opportunity this will be for you. |

I presume you mean NEXT summer...so you have several months to gain his permission. Have a heart-to-heart with him and ask what exactly are his objections. Would it cost him too much money? Does he think you are not mature enough? Is he worrried that you will not be well supervised? Find out what is bothering him, then ask exactly what you can do to meet his requirements. Then over the next few months, work very hard to solve those problems and meet the requirements. I presume you would have adult supervision over there. Arrange for those adults to meet with your Dad and give him more info that may help him. Good luck to you. |

Being that you are 14, i think , is the deal. are you going with a chapparone? or school people? Could you have the people you will be traveling with talk to him and maybe set his mind at ease? I don't have kids but i would have a hard time letting my 14 year old go to europe without me...
Tell him you will call him every day, and stuff like that.
I hope you get to go, but if you don't just remember those places will be there for you later.Good luck |

I guess it depends on who invited you, but I would do everything you can to convince him. You would be missing out on a very important opportunity. I did it, and it changed my life, opened my eyes, and I would never trade the experience for anything. Sounds like Dad night be a little scared something might happen to you. Each parent is different, only you know how to work him the best. Keep trying. Good luck. |

Well, it sounds like you still live at home so you have to go by his rules. I understand your frustration but save your enthusiasm for college. Many universities offer study over seas for a semester or two. You will get another chance if you go to the right college. |

try to explain to him that it will help your education asure him that it's not just a party vacation.
what are his reasonings for not allowing you and how old are you? |

find out why youdad won't let you go. It may be for your own good. If he won't let you go simply because he'll miss you or something then I would just go. But first make sure you are of age. If you are not of age 18+ it might not be a good idea. You may think you want to go when really you don't. Keep in mind traveling to a foreign country is expensive. |

Find out your father's objections, and try to address them as best you can. Show him the materials you have on the program, and perhaps introduce him to some of the sponsors if you know them.
Show effort to go, learn some of the language (if you don't speak them already). Get an application for a passport ready, perhaps saving to pay for the fees yourself.
If he won't change his mind, there will be opportunities to study abroad in college, so learn a foreign language! |

Oh dear, sorry to tell you this, but there isn't much you can do. You're too young and don't have money of your own. If dad says no, then no it is......
I had the same problem all my life, my dad wouldn't let me go anywhere by myself, not even on short trips organized by my school..... I wanted to study college in another city and he didn't let me do it either. I'm 30 now and have traveled alone extensively, but still feel a bit sad and angry that my dad wouldn't let me take advantage of the opportunities I had in the past to study abroad or in a different city. I started traveling alone only when I could afford it, and still against his will. But when you have your own money and are over 18...... they can't stop you as much as they'd want to. But for now.... guess you'll have to try to convince him or do as he says. Sorry :( |

You should go and travel and study there!
it`s like a lifetime experience~!
you should ask your dad why he won`t let you go first.
if you can`t persuade him, talk to your teachers and counselor for more persuasion :3
I hope you get to go in the end!! <33
GOOD LUCK ♥ |
