In order to teach English legally in Turkey you need to be a university graduate from any department as long as the university is located in an English speaking country. If you are a graduate then you can apply for work at any of the English schools and they will help you with all your visa work. However most schools will still higher you illegally and that is another option. Being a guide is a lot more risky as to be a tour guide in Turkey you need to be licensed and in the last several years there has been a crackdown on both agencies who use the guides illegally and at times even the guides themselves have been fined or sanctioned and I know of one who was deported. Working in a travel agency is another option and one that you are unlikely to be caught but his assumes you live in a touristic area and that it is in season. Unfortunately the tourism season is winding down. Since you didn't let us know what your profession was previously it is difficult to recommend anything. My best suggestion outside of teaching would be web design or translation or editing work. These are both in demand professions here in Turkey and they afford you flexibility, the chance to work from home and little chance of being caught working with out a permit. |

Teaching english is your best chance,
Find a school that needs teachers and if they employ you you will then get a visa, if they apply for one for you....

If you are here on a regular three month visa and making "border runs" or a residence visa, you cannot work legally. Go to a TEFL site on the net and check out the English language programs, apply for a job and ask the employer to assist with a work permit. Some will, some won't. Another way to get cash is to work as a tour guide for several hotels. Good luck. |

If your situation is urgent , take a bus or train to Greece or Bulgaria , exit and get back.So you can have a new visa . you may try to find a job at Akbiyik caddesi , the backpackers' street in Istanbul . But forget about being a guide , you have to have a special license for that. |
