Practically on every island there are quiet spots and places with a nightlife, apart few exceptions that you will probably not even find a ticket for.
Islands with interesting sea-life are the Sporades, Skiathos and Skopelos mostly have great beaches and intersting underwater views, and Alonissos has good sea-life, it also includes a protected sea park, but I am not so sure about the night life.
I also know my dad used to scuba dive in Corfu, which is beautiful.

If it wasn't for the sea life, I would also suggest Sifnos (very picturesque architecture) and Milos (wonderful beaches and landscapes). They can also be combined. Also Paros and Naxos -GREAT beaches and good restaurants, bars, etc.

corfu ia a great island to go to, not sure how much it costs but i highly recommend it, you wont regret it

Corfu Zante Crete and Rhodes can combine both types of holidays (quiet n good clubbing scene as well) now about sea-life i guess the sea-turtles of zante r quite interesting

you can rent rooms for 30-40 euros per day , near the beach

crete is pretty good and i would suggest Stalis which is between Malia and Hersonossis, so you get a pretty good beach and are close enough to the clubs in Malia or Hersonossis.
Stalis is not too long a transfer from the airport at under an hour and is pretty much one long road with bars restaurants etc. Malia is a short walk or short taxi ride away as well.

both crete and cyprus are good holiday places and santorini loved them all .you have to be careful though some of the greek islands are laid back and so small they don't have a lot of evening stuff.read into it before you book good hunting chow

When i was in Corfu a Greek man told me that Kefelonia is the best Greek Island!!!

Kefalonia is the best!! Skala is a really good resort for youngsters tht want to have plenty to do in the night but want to have a laid back day!! Skala is quiet a hilly resort though! the beach is really nice!! Kefalonia has some of the nicest beaches in Greece!! The island is really easy to get around too!! So you have got plenty of options for the day!

Corfu is another great place too! The resort of Roda is really nice and the beaches are lovely (nit as nice as Kefalonia mind) and Sidari is another nice resort with plenty to do but not over the top.

Avoid Kavos in Corfu if you are looking for it to be quiet but with some things to do in the night!! it is a lcub 18-30 resort and not the nicest of [places to go!! lots of litter on the beach ect, and not many other resorts close by to go to so really you would be stuck in the 1 resotr.

Crete is a good one. Mykonos and Skyros too. Avoid Corfu.
