Turkey, being he crossroad of hundred of civilizations, has a wide variety of people with different features. It is not like Norway, a country relatively isolated from different civilizations. It is normal for you to have a stereotype for people's features but not for us.

Having said that,the people in the picture look like Kurdish origin Turks- dark hair, thick dark eyebrows, significant cheekbones etc- . They are a beautiful part of our diversity. If you go to Aegean cost or to Trace, you will see a lot of pale skin, colored eyed and light haired people or real blonds in the Black Sea region. The metropolitan cities are a mixture of all kinds and types of people. We really don't pay too much of a thought to people's hair color, features etc and we are having a hard time understanding why foreigners trying to fit us into a stereotype

Now you do the math..

As per your background, you can always go to the registration office and trace back your ancestors from their birth certificates. Seems like you have some Turkish blood with a last name- it has to be your last name too, since it is coming from your fathers side-like Ozgur, which is Turkish.

I'm English with Blonde hair and blue eyes, but I don't look out of place when I visit Istanbul. There is no Turkish stereotype.

However, The north of Turkey has a region 'Karadeniz' and the people from that region are known as Laz. They are predominantly fair skinned and a large proportion of them have blue eyes.

Where did you find this photos? Hah hah... These peoples look like from south-east part of Turkey. So they're probably Kurdish people.

I know you think this is Turkish characteristic but you're wrong.

You can find in the following link a few turkish people from different areas... (when I was a child I was look like that girl with little brother in her arms and wears very colorful clothes.)

Your wellcome... That photos I sent are not just from Turkmenistan the're from different areas. So "Ozgur" mean is "Free" in Turkish. Probably you can be 1/8 Turkish :P... Do you know when Turk's came to the Anatolia, here were lots of different little countries and nationalities. And all of them mixed by time. But you can still find real Turkish characteristic or other characteristics among them. But you know what Turkish people sturdy and look like between Chineese and American Indian peoples.

my friend,u look like a norwegian /northern european ,u do not look like a typical turk.if i was in norway,ud fit in 100% with the rest of the norwegians.

also,that poster of all the supposed 'turkish faces' is just wrong.istanbul is full of south eastern kurds comming to look for work,so i wouldnt trust that atall.

turkish people have a vast variety when it comes to race.from turks who look like you do,to much darker ones,as do greeks and italians,romanians,bulgarians ect.

'ozgur' is indeed turkish,but i think ur friends maybe just playing with u when they tell u u look turkish,because to me,u dont.
