I think you need to stay in turkey for some time to get the nationality. It depends on their policies. most countries i think to get the nationality u have to stay there for some time but if u wanna serve in their armed forces there mite be ways to get in before u get ur nationality in some cases best to ask a turkish embassy.

Individuals married to Turkish citizens may naturalize after three years of marriage, but the application is possible after five years of residence in Turkey.

I agree with Mustafa Abi and Phoenix...

You need to live in Turkey for at least 3 years, and marrying someone doesn't give you the immediate right of getting turkish citizenship...

The only thing you can get immediately is the right to live and work in Turkey.

Regarding Army, you can't, because they may suspect you being a spy...And in turkish Army we don't have anymore the Jannissary Corps

Believe it or not thats something I ve already looked into.
you need to live in the country for 3 years. If you have a college degree or education you can apply to start as an officer.

I liked the idea of shooting at the PKK . but my Turkish is not good enough for now and I am getting older.

CINDY
when is it?

No it will take you at least 3 years to get nationality

In almost all countries, you have to reside for some time (like 2 or 3 years) before you can be granted citizenship. Being married to a citizen of that country helps, but you still have to wait.

Hello,
According to Turkish Citizenship Law, marrying a foreigner does not influence the citizenship of the husband. A foreign wife marrying a Turkish husband has the right to choose her own citizenship. But in some exceptions, such as "having no citizenship", the foreigner automatically shall gain Turkish citizenship due to the principle of "having at least one citizenship". Foreign women married to Turkish men are not required to give up their other citizenship.Turkish Laws allow the wife to hold both citizenships implicitly.

You have to wait and establish residency through your wife, upon marriage, and then you apply for citizenship. It takes about 3 years.
I am not sure about serving in the army. All men has to do military service in Turkey, but I am not sure if naturalized (foreign origins, yet citizen by marriage or work) men are required or not.
However, to be a soldier, marine, or anything ranking in the army, as a full-time job, you had to go to a military school, in high school and then to the academy. It takes a long time, and it is very competitive, and you have to learn many languages, be really good at science and math classes, so that you can qualify for the academy (like university). You also have to train your body. It is not on voluntary basis, like in the US, where they can take you and train you any time, where you can start at any age. It starts early in age, and they invest so much in this, starting from high school. So they are very picky who gets to go on, and takes a job in the military.

No, it is not possible it takes 3 or more years to take the nationality.

Totally Blunt
I don't think you can serve in the Turkish army.

Seems I am wrong.
