as you known very well,Türkiye is the Eurasian country.
*we are asian ,same as other Turkic peoples,and we have sentimental riches
*we are Mediterranean and middle east based by reason of our cultural riches(folklore-religion-cuisine-etc)
*we are European therefore we accepted Renaissance idea and established our state by the lead of the
1789 Revolition,and by the leadership Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and others Crazy Turks.

I'm so sorry for you because your country doesn't have these special futures.

Turkey is quite big...they might have think that they are in syria for instance in the south eastern provinces...They could think that they are in georgia or bulgaria in black sea province...Along the aegean and mediterranean coast they would think that they are in cote d'azur,greece or italy...
in istanbul they would think that they are in istanbul...no one has ever achieved to create something that is that good and similar to the city of the cities :p

Depends where they were placed I guess. For me I'd say no, unless it was right on the border with Iran.

I spent several months in Turkey in a small village when my Turkish ex and I went to visit his family. It didn't really seem like the middle east to me, except when we saw women wearing burka's (the ankle-length black robes that cover the face and body) but he told me those women were from Iran so I guess if you lived on the border then you'd see more Iranian people and perhaps think you were in the Middle East.

We saw some amazing scenery but I always think of the Middle East as being quite urban and I found Turkey to be very green and verdant so I don't know.

Interesting question though.

Landscape:
As you know middle east is surrounded by large desserts and the only green areas are oasises.The rest of solid is bare.Unlike from middle east, about %30-35 of the area of Turkey is covered by forests and there is no desserts in Turkey.

People:
Turks are not arabs so we don't look like them.We are not dark skinned like arabs and unlike from them we wear stylish modern garment.

Weather:
Turkey is not as hot as middle east.There are a lot of 5* ski resorts in Turkey.

Food:
Turkish cuisine is mixed with european&eastern kitchen.But in general Turkey has it's own cuisine that is famous all around the world.

Finally Turkey doesn't belong to middle east.
