Rome is awesome - there is so much character around, both in buildings and the people and the weather is outstanding. Sitting eating a meal outdoors at the Piazza Navona at night, watching street artists, singers and lovers pass by is fantastic. I can recommend a lovely B&B near the vatican ...its called Strawberry House. Staying there means you get to walk past the Vatican each night, and I am not religious at all, but its the most amazing view to walk by |

Rome without question. So full of life and if you're into history and architecture better still. But as a second choice I would go for Copenhagen as a previous poster suggested. It is one of the most laid back places I have ever visited. |

I'd go back to Moscow. The only time I went there was in 1975 when USSR was still in existence and under Communist rule. It would be interesting to see how the city compares nowadays. |

Weird that nobody said Barcelona as it's become the number one destination for weekends away from Britain. Not saying that's where I'd go just strange that nobody mentioned it yet. I'd go to Riga again. Sexiest women and time ever |

Its got to be copenhagen, its a crazy city, thousands of cyclists, the people are the nicest ive ever met and they all speak perfect english, the only word i learnt was skoll ( cheers). The drink is expensive (£4 a pint!) so i didn't say skoll very much, but great experience non the less. |

One of these 3 - all are beautiful w/ great architecture, great cute places to stroll around, lots of live
1) Paris - because apart from all above there's soo much to see & do: monuments, cute areas to walk by, food, shoppings. A special favourite is taking the cab at night and drive through the Louvre and some of the most monumental areas.
2) Venice - arriving by vaporetto on a sunny day to Piaza San Marco is a must in a life time! .. but preferably in a week day as W.E. are crazily touristic.
3) Prague - this is kind of a magic city. Watching the sunset over Charles Bridge and from the opposite side of the castle is amazing. Plus it (still ) the cheapest of the 3. |

Difficult to choose, seen so many...
One of my favourite all time cities is Barcelona - I go back there every couple of years, but then the same applies to Madrid and Salamanca ...
But the one that really steps up is Florence in Italy ... when you finally walk into the Acedemia and gaze upon Michelangelos stunning masterpiece, you will wonder how one man managed it!
Happy Trails

Paris without a doubt!! It's absolutely beautiful!! So clean and the people are friendly. The Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Sacre Coeur, Musée d'Orsay, Le Louvre, a boat ride along the Seine and The Palace of Versailles and there's plenty more... The métro is fairly cheap compared to London! and the graffiti along the métro lines outside is extremely artistic! The businees area of the city is even worth a visit to see the architecture, La Grande Arche de la Défense for example. This is definitely one of the best cities I have ever visited, so much to see, maybe a little expensive in places, les champs élysées etc. Another city I wouldn't mind going back to as well would be Athens but you'd be surprised how undeveloped it is compared to most cities but, extremely historical and the acropolis is amazing. |

And then Moscow (does it count as Europe or Asia?) |

Of all the European cities I 've traveled to (lots and lots), the only one I returned to four times was Istanbul, Turkey. Yes, part of Istanbul is in Europe, and the other Asia, so it's technically European. The sense of history is overwhelming, the people are remarkably friendly, you get a good value for the dollar, and a wonderful cultural difference. Many Turks speak English. The food is quite good though typically more salty than we're used to in the US, and is often served lukewarm. There are beautiful hotels along with cheaper ones. Any good tourbook can tell you all there is to see. Tons! It's a Muslim country, but don't let that put you off. Really. Anyone I know who's been to Turkey wants to return. Usually, they start with Istanbul, then veer to the remoter areas.
If not Istanbul, then Rome. Not that it's my favorite Italian locale, but everyone should see that city at least once.
Paris is nice, but if you're considering all of Europe, it wouldn't be my first choice. (Nor necessarily my last.) |

either sarajevo in bosnia açor vilnius is lithuania, they are both really cheap really un spoilt, not touristy at all just locals there. Vilnius has lots to see and a great cafe culture plus it has a little seperate part of the city where a number of locals decided they wanted to be an independt state, so they are, the buildings are all painted in awsome colours and people just sit around drinking!
Sarajevo is about the most different country you can get to in europe, it is a shock going there but the people are helpful and it opens your eyes to a beautiful country that has had its reputation tarnished by the war!
There are other nice cities other people have mentioned but i thought i would say my personal favs. everywhere is italy is gorgous, Krakow in Poland is great and berlin is a must as well |

I spent five days in Paris and wasn't short of things to see and do and would love to go back there again and take in the Moulin Rouge again.
I quite liked Berlin too. Amsterdam is pretty good if weed and sex are your bag. Barcelona is pretty nice too. I must admit also to being fond of Dublin and have taken a few trips over on Ryanair. Guinness always seems to taste better the closer you are to the River Liffey! Plus of course, everyone speaks English, which is kind of helpful if like me your schoolboy French or German doesn't extend much beyond 'Where is the Castle?'. |
