Yes and It is called the visa fee.
Turkey and U. K apply visa mutually. Turkish visa fee for U.K is the same as U.K visa fee for Turkey.
However, Turkey spares the U.K citizens from two trips to the Turkish Embassy in London once for applying and second time for getting the visa.
Instead, U.K citizens can get their visas at the airport or land border.
And they do complain about it. (like gail)
If U.K government waive visa for Turkish citizens I am sure Turkey would follow suit.
Edit: Yes, they accept British currency, but don't accept any credit card.

The cost of the entry visa, which last for 3 months, is £10 sterling if you are a UK citizen. They do not accept credit cards and do not give change (at Dalaman) so make sure you have a £10 note ready. If you are Scottish please make sure that you have an english note as they do not accept scottish notes.
Have a great holiday, I love Turkey. |

Yes it is true, I have only just found out through a friend who's just back from Turkey! Why isn't this more widely known? I am totally shocked that my travel agent failed to mention anything about it and we would have landed in Turkey with no money to pay them!! |

Yes you do, £10 per person (even for children) and they won't give you any change if you hand anything over larger.
Beware of Turkey.... they have this idea that we are all rich and dependant on what airport you are going too watch your prices at the terminal on your way out, for snacks you can pay as much as £13 for a burger meal Dalaman airport is a rip off ! |

Yes there is a fee of ten pounds payable at the airport in Turkey. This is the way that they provide a 3 mont visa stamp in your passport. (please note it has to be a ten pound note and nothing else) Have a great hol |

Yes as you are visiting from the U.K. it is Ten English pound note, they used to want a crisp and neat ten pound note with no creases and no marks but that has changed. Also note the visa is for 90 days stay in Turkey and not three months there is a difference! |

i think you do have to pay |

You have to pay a visa fee but that's not exactly like a ticket booth. Nationalities which don't require a visa don't have to pay anyting. |
