Lady S
That would be "lokum". But I think all Turkish food is delicious, so you can call it delights no matter what it is :) LOL

"Turkish Delight" (the sweet) is different from "Turkish delights".

The delights of Turkey are manifold - the seas, the mountains, the food etc.

"Turkish Delight" is called "lokum" in Turkish.

it is only called delight in english (for example in Bosnia it is called 'rahat lokum or rahatluk' which means something like comfort food)
in Turkey it is called lokum, and lokum doesn't mean delight in Turkish,

lokum comes from the Ottoman word 'ul-hulkĂĽm' which means something similar to a cough drop, lokum has had different medical uses in the past and even is today recommended by doctors to patients with insufficient kidneys

hhmmm

It depends on the delight, there's lokum and tatli.
Lokum is this: http://img.blogcu.com/uploads/yemekhikayeleri_lokum.jpg
which most people consider as Turkish delight.
Tatli is this: http://www.titizpastaneleri.com/tatlilar/tatli1.jpg

I think they should just call it lokum like we do.

Because it's a sample of Turkish cuisine.
