In which countries in Europe is it legal to marry multiple people; as in the mormon religion? ?

Which countries in Europe allow multiple marriages as in Mormonism ?

No European country allows people to marry more than one person.

The Netherlands does not allow polygamous marriage, but does recognise polygamous relationships if the marriage took place in a country where polygamy is accepted.

Mormans no longer practice polygamy. The Fundamentalist Mormons, who have been outlawed by the mainstream Mormon faith, practice polygamy. But their polygamous relationships are not recognised either by the Mormon Church or the US Government.

no chance, we are a civilized continent. you can only marry one person, everything else is illegal and will take you straight to prison.

The phrase "modern Mormon polygamist" is a misnomer. Mormons do not practice polygamy. Even in cultures where polygamy is acceptable (some Muslim countries, for example), Mormons NEVER have more than one wife. Any member found to have more than one wife is excommunicated.

Mormons believe polygamy is only acceptable on very rare occasions when God authorizes it (i.e. Abraham, Issac, Jacob, etc.). Otherwise, monogamy is the rule. (This is the message of Jacob 2:27-30 in the Book of Mormon.) Because God commanded Mormons to stop practicing polygamy in 1890, Mormons believe that modern-day polygamists are acting contrary to God's will. It is not that Mormons secretly want to practice polygamy but that the law/social norms/societal pressure prevent them. Mormons sincerely are not interested in practicing polygamy, because God has said it is no longer authorized.

Those that practice polygamy in Utah and Arizona are not Mormons. They belong to separate religions (usually FLDS).

It's not legal in any European country to have polygamous marriages, however, the Netherlands and the UK (possibly some other countries as well with a high percentage of immigrants from SA or the Middle East) recognise these marriages if they had been officially registered as such in the country of origin. This is mainly done to ensure that all wives and offspring can be eligible for health/social benefits and have access to them in case of divorce/widowhood.

ha ha, i am from salt lake city utah. I know you would think that mormons marry multiple wives but that is not the case any more. The ones that are married to multiple woman are polygamists. See the reason why most people get confused are because the FLDS is polygamists and LDS is mormons. The LDS removed polygamists from their church so they can get money from the government. But they are pretty much believe in the same thing! But pretty much the middle east and in between europe and russia is mostly where they are allowing it. also I am not mormon, but know lots of them.

In Europe you can only marry one person (man/woman, man/man/, woman/woman, but marrying a person of the same gender is not allowed in all European countries).

The middle east.

I know that polyamorous marriages are now legal in the netherlands (this can be same gender or not which is why its polyamorous - a slightly different dimension than what Mormons practice).
