Where am I?

If you did your geography well, you would know that the netherlands actually is a country with it's own language dutch. A lot of people call it Holland and than they know what it is, but Holland is just 2 provinces out of the twelve, called North-Holland and South-Holland.

But since I'm born and raised in The Netherlands, I will give you the answer.

The Kingdom of The Netherlands is a country in western Europe, bordering Gemany (eastern border) and Belgium (southern border). In the west and the north, there is the North-Sea. And across the North-Sea, to the west, you'll find the UK.

The capital city of The Netherlands is named Amsterdam.

The Netherlands have twelve provinces, named: Noord-Holland, Zuid-Holland, Friesland, Groningen, Drente, Overijssel, Flevoland, Utrecht, Gelderland, Zeeland, Noord-Brabant and Limburg.

Some people -by mistake or ignorance- call this country Holland. But as you can read above, Holland is only two provinces of the country.

The people are called Dutch (and so is our language).

Netherlands is a country and the capital is Amsterdam. Holland is just a area in Netherlands. Morons would often call it Holland.

The Netherlands is in north-west Europe next to Germany and Belgium. The capital is Amsterdam. It's often called Holland but they aren't actually synonyms. If it helps you identify it, some stereotypes are wooden clogs, windmills, tulips, dope cafes and legal prostitution. Just to emphasize, these are stereotypes and Dutch people are not stoned prostitutes, living in windmills and wearing strange shoes.
