Yes, Belgium is well known as a country in Europe. However, most of the well known countries or cities in Europe happen to be the name of a town/city in US/Canada. E.g. London exists in Kentucky, West Virginia, Arkansas, Texas, Ohio, and also in Canada. Belgium happens to also be a city in Wisconsin.
