Yes, considering the number of foreign tourists that visit it each year, it's safe. No terrorist attacks, no political instability, and no natural disasters that you should worry about. Individual crime is present and the corruption level is high, so take care of your belongings the way you would in any foreign place. Pickpocketing, petty crime and car theft are issues, but not to the extent that should deter you from going there. The country has a lot to offer and the people are hospitable.

I'm Macedonian!!!
yeah, don't worry

Yes it is. The biggest crime that may happen to you is pickpocketing!

Depends but most times it is. Most of the cities, that are at the seaside could have troubles with pickpockets but I guess thats pretty much it.

Also in the smallest villages, your house could get robbed but it still depends on the city and it doesn't really happen that often. So I guess yes, Bulgaria is a safe country :)

Lynn
absolutely

Yeaahh...did that "ovcichka"guy said: Bah don't worry :o)
(ovcha rabota, brato!)
I would say depends where you are, who are you with and do you have any friends to show you around. If you have Bulgarian friends to take you around you'll be fine. Stick to the big cities and be street smart. Ohh yeahh ...if you get a taxi and you speak English the price will double or maybe triple. If you have a Bulgarian with you, you keep your mouth shut, you nod and you smile = you pay half price : ) Easy as peace of pie.

I've been there once and had no problems at all. I really enjoyed being around the people I met there. Everyone seemed very hospitable and sincere.
Of course it isn't a safe country, no country is!
